Graduate Your 'High-School Hair' (Photos)

I would really like to see the editors looks on this site who are constantly demeaning other women for their appearance. On one thread you insult these terrific looking women and on another you are pushing plastic surgery. How cynical. I hope someone creates a site for women over 40 who want to be positive and celebrate each other cause this one definately isnt it. Over and outta here.

Top 10 Female Quotes of 2008

I think this is a very sad list indeed.

wOw Presents: The 15 Over-40 Female Fashion Leaders of 2008 (Photos)

wowowow - some of these comments are nasty… and some ageism in there to boot. Nice! Other than Anna and Barbara, I dont like any of the choices much. I dont see any of them as icons. Michelle is getting the Princess Di treatment in the press, which is a shame since she is such a smart woman. and btw, whoever dissed Daphne Guiness for wearing a mini and platforms totally missed the fact that the woman has a rockin pair of legs and a figure to match. If ya got it, show it, I say!

Remembering Eartha Kitt, Sultry Singer of 'Santa Baby' (Video)

when we were still pretty young, my brother and I used to watch Batman reruns and let’s just say that Eartha was a highlight - she just took that thing to a whole other level for us kids. Very groundbreaking to America to have a beautiful witty Black woman besting Batman (say that 3 times fast) but to us kids, it was just the way it was. Good for her for making that role so important for a new generation and kudos to the people who hired her. She was indeed the real deal.

Caroline Kennedy Finally Talks to Press, Pokes Fun at NY Times (Video)

I live in NY and I dont think a Senator should be appointed who has no job experience. If she wants the job as a first timer then get elected to it. Very simple - they need to hold an election or appoint someone who has an actual relevant resume.

Recession Rejuvenation: 8 Steps to Looking Great Without Plastic Surgery, by Dr. Robert Freund

Hi Carmel, I mix mine with aloe juice from CVS - a big tub of it for $10 lasts more than a week, and a little fresh carrot juice (when I can get it) - it sure does nice things for my “glow” - I am so glad I reminded you. I see the difference when I dont have it. I read that Madonna drinks aloe juice to clear her skin and that is why I tried it. Have to say it works very well and I have learned to like the taste. I just bought a device called nuface - I had treatments a couple of times from a salon in NYC that did electric currents on the face to tighten the pores, but I couldnt afford to keep it up. Now you can do it at home. I have a weak chin so I have been keeping an eye on it to see if it gets firmer…and I think it has a but. I have only been using it a week so the jury isnt in - but if you want to check it out there is a website called www.nuface.com. And no, I dont sell it either. I dont want to go down the “cut my face” route until nothing else works at all.

2009 New Year's Resolutions Reader Forum

I am going to try to be more patient with the less expereienced and less focussed. I tend to move fast and get things done without too much concern for the feeling of others who cant keep up. Surely there is a way to do both and I need to find it.

10 Women's Magazines We Can't Help But Remember

I was a kid, but I liked Mirabella and Lear. They helped shape my style as I was pretty impressionable at the time. I love Vogue, but that came after.

I make sure I get my daily dose of very good vitamins and oils to keep my skin happy - that makes a huge difference in my appearance. I highly recommend “Green vibrance” to anyone unsure they are getting all their daily greens. Give it one week and you will see an immense improvement in your face and skin (unless you are taking something like it already) and no, I dont sell the stuff. :-)

Anna Wintour Isn't 'Angry Enough' to Leave Her Throne at Vogue

I neither know nor particularly care what Ms W is like behind the scenes. I think she always looks amazing - her taste in her own wardrobe is fantastic. My only negative comment is that it looks like she is a smoker - and that can seriously damge the skin. I would rather be slightly plump and keep the firm tone than be skinny and have damage. The other supposed contenders look like smokers without Ms W’s great elegance and discipline. So I vote for Anna to stay on the Island!

Jennifer Aniston Defends 'Vogue' Interview on 'Oprah'

let’s face it - this is all for publicity. Jennifer needs it and the only way she can get it is to talk about this old stuff. All the Pitts have to do for attention is pop or adopt. Frankly they are all so damned boring I find myself craving the relative sanity of the Cruise pr machine.

wowOwow Asks Isaac Mizrahi: Is Fashion Still Jewish?

I agree with Isaac - travelling is only acceptable with my blankie - mine is frette - and my climarone from Dr Valnet. Anna Wintour is awesome - but I have to wonder at Isaac raving about Beene - didnt Anna and Beene have fisticuffs? Is one allowed to praise Beene and Anna in the same paragraph - wont she smite you?

The Wonder Woman of Fashion, by Liz Smith

I absolutely adore DVF - she is truly an amazing woman. Thanks for highlighting this.
