Confessions of a Couch Potato

I have raised my kids; worked for 20 + years, just when I was ready to start “MY LIFE”….I have been afflicted with an inner ear problem that has stopped me in my tracks with constant dizziness and disorientation! It is horrendous! This last 8 months I feel like I haven’t gotten off the couch and for the first time, I have been in charge of the remote control during the day! I am starting to like the remote. I am starting to enjoy being a couch potato! I do wish this dizziness would go away so I could enjoy it without everything spinning! Now is a lovely time to run the remote control, in the day of DVR’s, I can now FF and RW real TV! I can record two shows and watch a third! Awwwww lovely remote…..Finally I have found my real love affair! I am waiting for the day that someone comes up with a way for it to burn more calories…. I also listen to the tv these days when I am on the computer, or cleaning up the house! Like others, I don’t care what is on, the tv just has to be on. I actually turned it off one day, and listened to the quietness of the house; it was unbearable for nearly 10 minutes! I feel like I finally understand what the “fuss” was all about with men’s love affairs with tv over the years! I too have found that if you read a book or make a list while sitting on the couch watching tv it does expiate some of the guilt of watching 16 hours a day! LOL!
