i don’t have a theme song, so much as an anthem. stone ponies wth lynda ronstadt’s ‘beat of a different drum’. i’m almost 60, still single, and can say it’s been a helluva ride.

referring to a rape(STATUTORY, DRUGGED, OR drunk) survivor as ‘chick’ is a highly dismissive term, remininiscent of the 70’s. an archaic attitude exempting powerful men from responsibility for controlling their genitals, the fact that a powerful woman, such as joan could use this term regarding a 13 y.o. girl is an effort to DEhumanize a young girl to separate her from the powerful as less deserving of protection than the elite who attempt to avoid consequences. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME.

this particular segment of the elite seem to think that polanski’s ‘contributions’ should exempt HIM. contributions??? where’s the charity??? he made some movies!!! he got paid!!! it’s a job, not a sacrament!!! SEND HIM TO JAIL!!! add on consequences for leaving with his sentence half served. if age didn’t serve to protect a 13 y.o., why should it protect a 72 y.o.?

gm has factories in mexico, chrysler, i believe, has a factory in canada. honda has a factory in ohio. toyota in kentucky. i’d rather buy a car made by an american worker, than have cash going to exec’s and stockholder because of outsourcing. american companies haven’t made fuel efficiency a priority, until now, when forced. yes, cars with foreign makers should be part of cash-for-clunkers. the only negative i see, is that the poorer segment of our society won.t have access to the clunkers. ans for work this has been their lifeline,

it’s not just the first lady who has INAPPROPRIATE focus placed on her appearance, to the exclusion of other qualities. hiary, on the campaign trail wore a somewhat low-cut neckline, and that was the focus, not her message. oh, and how inappropriate this was FOR HER AGE!!! agree with palin’s politics or you don’t, but the focus would have been on her wardrobe. so the repubs dressed her, to expectations of her position and she gave the clothing back. so then the focus was on the NEED to dress this candidate. we’ve gotten no where, as long as what we wear in considered more interesting than what we are or think. it’s one of the reasons the wage gap has never really closed.
