Your attacks on others is unwarranted. “They say where there is smoke, there is fire” is an old saying. It was not, as you tried to imply, part of a statement regarding whether Sen. Edwards is guilty or not of any act. It was part of an old saying. As for the sentence: “It has been reported,” yes it has been reported. And it sounds like you have too much time on your hands attacking others on this site. Do something with your life. Go volunteer for several charities and participate in the plan to prevent poverty rather than sitting around complaining that something needs to be done about it. As for this site, it is a place for discourse, and yes, opinion. This is not a “news” site. It is a forum. If you want to learn what hair cut makes you look younger, than read the home page and enjoy. The question was raised about Sen. Edwards and the media coverage or lack thereof and writers responded. I believe that is what they were invited to do. Trying to silence others and their opinions results in “a chilling” effect and an effort to silence free speech. That was, of course, the reasoning behind the first amendment—freedom to say what we think—-whether you like it or not. Sen. Edwards has chosen to be a public figure; and as such, he is fair game for reports about his private or public life.

Somewhere It was once said that charity begins at home. Maybe home is where the 13 point plan needs to be for John Edwards. And perhaps he can start donating to charities the money he spends on the $600 haircuts. Maybe his actions need to speak instead of his words and speeches. Perhaps it is time for him to give his wealth to the poverty stricken and show the rest of the world how it should be done—-a real American hero! And as for Adults? Who died and made you the expert?

I am happy staying where I am. Of course, the cost of the excursion would be way too much for me. If I had the money, I would rather use it on vanity issues—-such as a total body sculpt—-or perhaps donate to charity. Also, there are too many places in this world I have not seen and I would rather see them first.

It was reported that one of Edward’s assistants - a married man with children, claimed responsibility. If true, then another family is hurt by this. If it is Edward’s child and if the woman is his mistress, I hope he stands up and faces it without including others. Situations like this are never “pretty” and someone always seems to get hurt. It is time for movies to portray older women as attractive and desirable to younger men. My husband is eight years younger than me and so far, it works. Those heartthrobs in the movies need “a more mature” leading lady to grace them on the scene. Imagine the possibilities………

Obviously a heated subject. As a woman, I know how it feels to have the “good old boys” control your life and your career. However, I wouldn’t mind taking a walk in Katie’s shoes—-that is regarding her career. I have a Masters in Communications and Marketing and those doors that opened for Katie never opened for me——not once. Must be one of those “in the right place at the right time” things…..and with my luck, I am never there.

I really can’t give her advise. I always measure a woman by determining if she could be a confidante, a best friend, a co-worker, a sister. For some reason, I cannot find any of these qualities in Michelle Obama. When I see her, I do not see someone I trust.
