What do you sleep in?

i love sleeping in the buff … so comfortable, nothing binding, constricting, wrapping around my legs, my torso … ugh. however, if i’m visiting in someone else’e house, i always take a pretty nightshirt. in the winter, if i’m chilled, i will don my men’s flannel jammy pants & either a particular sweatshirt or a long-sleeved t-shirt. but 98% of the time, it’s the buff!!

What the Hell Happened to Lara Flynn Boyle?

and BTW. lay off Liz. I believe the point that Liz is trying to make is that real, mature women don’t need botox, lipsuction, plastic surgery, blahblahblah, to make them beautiful. what’s sad about so many (esp in hollywood) is that they lose sight of what is real & become so desperate to stay young, get the roles, stay in the spotlight, whatever, that they totally lose their perspective. This should be a lesson to all of us, ladies.

What the Hell Happened to Lara Flynn Boyle?

yes, this is LFBoyle. she was recently on an episode of Law & Order, & my husband & i were shocked when we saw her. that’s one of the WORST botox lip injections i’ve ever seen in my life. this woman is a train wreck … she paved the way for britney … she needs to get over herself & get real.

What are the three dumbest things you spend money on?

DVDs … my husband’s soda (however, it’s the only ‘vice’ he has … so i shouldn’t complain) … annuals for my flower beds … getting my nails done every three weeks …

Long Live Gossip and Celebrity Worship

To me there is a difference in folks reading the gossip rags for just pure entertainment & people’s lives revolving around them. If i see one in the doc’s waiting room, sure, i’ll pick up & hoot about the idiocy. But i don’t idolize these people nor make them out to be ‘heroes’.

A Princeton-trained physicist told ABC News this week that Global Warming is 'all bunk.' Do you believe in Global Warming?

Global warming??? Puh-lease. Al Gore just loves to hear himself talk. Do i believe we are — as someone else prior said — experiencing climate changes? yes. however, i believe that this is a cyclical occurrence since the dawn of time. do i think we need to be more considerate of Mother Earth? you betcha. but i’m not getting my panties in a wad over “global warming” and the Chicken Little’s who are proliferating the story.

Have you noticed rising prices? What is costing you more this month?

Folks, the situation we are in right now has been years/decades in the making. this is not something that happened ‘overnight’. i look at the period of time that my parents were born & raised (1920s) and the tough times they weathered. we have NO IDEA what tough times are like. What we are living now is nothing compared to what they experienced. We have been living way above our means for years … buying with credit, thinking that we or our kids have to have the latest & greatest, keeping up with the Jones’s. we have more gadgets & gizmos that i think have made life more complicated. And the folks who are buying into the $800-$1200 shoes/purses, the high-end cars, the McMansions … they have helped fueled this overindulgent, shallow, flip society. i was raised on a farm. i was never dirty, never lived in a dirty house, never went hungry. birthday and Christmas gifts consisted of socks, underwear, clothes & maybe something i had longingly looked at in the ol’ Wishbook. we never went out to eat (unless we went to ‘the city’), it was extremely rare to go to a ‘picture show’ but boy howdy, when we did, it was a TREAT. we had lots of get-togethers with family, neighbors, church functions. i look back & even tho i had a conservative, frugal upbringing, it’s made me who i am today. i have always been a careful shopper of groceries, clothing, services. i use coupons, watch sales. i am a voracious reader … therefore i am a library junkie. My husband & i do go out to eat, but never fast food (THAT has gotten outrageously expensive) … we’ll spend a little extra & have a nice dinner with friends. we used to be big movie goers, but that has gotten too expensive & too much of a crap shoot anymore … too many pathetic movies with over-indulged, self-absorbed ‘movie stars’. ugh. even tho everything has gone up, things will get better. this is a great learning experience for the “gotta have it NOOOOWWWWWWWWW” gneration. this is a reality check.

My daughter will be home from college for spring break tomorrow … yeeeaaaaaa!!!!!! …. and thankfully, my husband is on his way home tonight … another yeaaaaaa!!!!!!!!! Saturday, i have to make a scratch chocolate pie & a scratch carrot cake for family dinner on sunday; then i’m helping with two Easter church services in the afternoon, then Sunday, church with my family, and driving to my sister’s to spend the day with my parents & my sister’s family. the new baby will be there … i can’t wait to smell that wonderful, sweet, baby smell … and my daughter & i will be fighting over who will hold him!! we will eat, spend the day enjoying the family, then drive home & collapse! Easter blessings to all …

If you knew your husband cheated on you, would you divorce him?

My husband & i have been married for 25 great years. I am a very fortunate woman. i had to say ‘no’ on this question, just because i would hate to throw away 25 years as a knee-jerk reaction. I would have to evaluate the situation, take all things into consideration & go from there.

What wakes you at 4 a.m.?

wow, ladies … signing on this morning & reading everyone’s respobses is so amazing. i’m laughing, i’m tearing up, & i’m realizing that no matter where we live, what we do, what our financial status is, how famous we are (or not), we are all living the same basic life!! wow … my little boat has suddenly turned into an ocean liner … can you imagine what ‘girls night’ at my house on the back deck would be like!!!!!!! riotous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
