Margo Howard Learns a Lesson About Domestic Abuse

Lisa K, you have come to the right place.  This site is full of friends and supporters.  Take care dear.

Margo Howard Learns a Lesson About Domestic Abuse

Andrea, you are so right.  There’s a women and children shelter near my home called the BARN.  They not only provide shelter, but career training for the women so they can re-enter the work place after escaping abusive situations.  They remain in the program for two years.  It’s simply wonderful the help that’s provided.

What's the first thing you would do if you were fired from your job?

Laura, I was stunned when I found out the laws in Texas does not protect the worker.  You can be fired for wearing the wrong dress on a particular day.  Unfortunately, people have to do what you are doing to get some  satisfaction.  I applaud you for going ahead and suing.  Good luck girl.

Judith Martin Confronts Her Boss

And I’d have a big fight with myself…it’s a good thing I like her…lol

Joan Ganz Cooney Thinks First

Since I’m no longer in a paid job either, and have been fortunate to never experience the dreaded "pink slip" handed to me, I’d like to think that I would have taken some time off to settle my mind.  Sometimes getting to take a break you planned for or at someones else behest could be the best thing that could happen to a person.  My late husband used to say #$%^it and move on.

The wOw Conversation: The Ins, Outs and In Betweens of a Mother's Love

From birth ‘till the age of four, I thought and believed my mother was my sister (long story) so because of that, we developed a real friendship that lasted until she died.  She was my best friend and I miss talking to her, not being able to pick up the phone and chat about everything and nothing.  My parents went on to have nine children in all, but I never lost my place in her hearth.  I just went on to be mommies little helper.  It felt like playing house.

Liz Smith: Mel Gibson's Wife – A Hellish Fate?

Teresa, I must say yours is the most sensible comment I’ve read in awhile.  You swing left, and right in your commets.  I like that.  And like you said, leave them alone.  And I’ll add, for goodness sake!

Nancy Pelosi Now Says Maybe 'Truth Commission' for Torture Crafters Is OK

Is everybody happy now?   We almost went an entire week on this site without this negative bleating.

Do you have a will? What events in your life could move you or have moved you to change or update it?

I sat down and made a will several years ago, made one sister executor, and sent copies to all my siblings and my two grown children.  I don’t believe I could rest in peace leaving everything up to my children to fight over.  I even included what I want to have happen with my body.  The silence was loud.  But I felt good afterwords.

Michelle Obama: 100 Days of Style and Substance

Although I admired First Lady Jackie,  I also admire First Lady Michelle.  They both have their own style, and should not be compared to each other.  I love both of them for their individuality.

Senate Committee OK's Kathleen Sebelius for HHS Post; Abortion Opponents Gear Up for Fight

Tony Perkins should stop casting stones…It’s so unbecoming.  As for the Palin group, nothing surprise me.

Liz Smith Says Success Is Being a wOw Woman

My mon used to say "once you’ve done your best, angels can’t do better"  I define success as a bunch of little good things happening.  I refuse to be boxed in into thinking I should be/do this or that to be successful.  Like Liz, being involved with a great set of women is a great success.

Candice Bergen: Love What You Do

Bianca, welcome to WoW.  I can’t even begin to know what all you have gone through in your very young life.  But, from the way you express yourself, I know your life issues have made you a powerful human being.  God bless you baby girl…
