Joe Jackson has shown what kind of man, I use that term loosely, he is. He’s an opportinistic, controlling, child abuser. Michael wasn’t the only one who spoke of his father’s beatings. Before his son was even buried he walked the red carpet & did a mini-infomercial for his new record company. What kind of father does that? I saw his chat with Martin Bashir & he looked ridiculous. He even said that they’d make sure the kids were fed. Really, Joe? That’s pretty darn decent of you. Hopefully, if it’s true, if he lives in Las Vegas he’ll go back there. But, alas, he won’t because now that Katherine has custody of those precious kids he sees the money train & he definitely wants to board.

APPLAUSE!!! Thank you for saying this. Everytime anyone has a view of Palin that she isn’t perfect or the next shining star for the Republican’s we might as well be burned at the stake. I used to enjoy the "discussions" but lately it’s become a "us versus them" forum. And enough with the name-calling. It sounds so grade school.

I guess the Brits saw something I didn’t. I did not see Paris pushed to the microphone; she appeared to want to say good-bye to her daddy. And she showed the emotions any child would have at the loss of their parent. Take away all the glitz & glamour; the lights & cameras. This was a moment she directed to her daddy whom she loved above all else. That was all that mattered.

It didn’t occur to me that this might bother some. She loved her father & spoke from her heart. Not scripted; not pandering to the critics. Just a very loving moment from a daughter to her daddy.

Beautifully said, S G! I think we all could take a moment to re-read your words & hopefully, learn a thing or two about compassion. Not just for the times when someone has passed but for those in our everyday lives. It seems to me that it’s become much easier to lash out & attack instead of empathizing & showing some compassion. I will never know what it’s like for anyone, family included, since I have never walked in their shoes. Thank you for a reminder of the person I would prefer to be. I’ll try much harder to practice this. I have a feeling I will live a better life.

Bravo!!! Well said!! Those that ridiculed Obama supporters by labeling them his "flock of sheep" seem to be doing the same with Palin. However, they will never see the comparison since they are so quick to defend her without pausing for a moment to actually look at her actions. I must give her props though; she accomplished what she set out to do. On a slow news weekend she still got all the network & cable news coverage. Oh, I forgot for a moment. It’s the media’s fault. isn’t it?

Yvonne, smart & articulate? When? Where? I haven’ heard one complete sentence that has made sense in all the time she has been in the public eye. Ask her what newspapers she reads & she turns that into an insult & the media is out to get her. She’s paranoid. She makes absolutely no sense. I read & listened to her announcement yesterday.
