I have been to Salmon a few times. My siblings and I built a cabin that we share that is in that part of the state. I live in the mountains of west central Idaho. Salmon is more to the East of that.  I have pretty much lived most of my life in Boise, but moved to this area 3 years ago and retired now. 

I am like you B.Clark, growing up in the suburbs in Idaho. Now I live in the mountains of Idaho, far away from the city life. We are 11 miles from the nearest town and it is a small town at that. There is not even one stop light there. I don’t hear the cows or roosters, but we do see deer, elk and fox all of the time.  The malls and shops are far away and I don’t miss them either.

Wouldn’t it be great to find that one person you once cared about and never forgot about? I have tried and not because I wanted to rekindle anything, but because I did care about him and wondered how his life turned out since we parted ways. So………Jerry Wells from Kentucky, once stationed in Idaho in the air force…and hopefully still alive and happy, would be in your 60’s, where are you?

For me, no question…..the Beach Boys! 2nd choice is Bee Gees. But the Beach Boys music always was the BEST of the 60’s and the Bee Gees was the best of the 70’s.

Good one Mary! I agree that it would be an easy win for the Democrats if Palin were the Republican candidate. She might be good for Alaska so she should stay there. I don’t want her as my President, now or ever!

Trust me Frannie, you have made the right choice. Like you, at my 10 year reunion, no one had changed and the jocks and cheerleaders, still thought they were the whole student body. 20 year reunion gave me a little more to hope for, because someone besides the jocks was in charge of it and it was fun. The 30 yr reunion was ran by the jocks and cheerleaders again and the same thing for the one I recently went to, which was the 40th. They only talked about football and the football games and the fun they had during the non-school days. They introduced the cheerleaders again, as if we cared, and made small mention of the basketball team. Otherwise it was all jokes about each other. No mention of the hundreds of other people who were also part of that over 500 student graduating class. I noticed less and less turnout and the “regular” kids for the most part are the ones not showing up. Being one of those “regular” students, I won’t go back again. Enough is enough.

BRAVO! to Pete Hauschka and to you Kathy for providing his words to us to read. I haven’t liked Sarah Palin from the “get-go” and the more I hear and read, the more that increases. For a woman, she has a lot of …… okay, I won’t say it. I watched part of The View this morning and liked what Whoopie had to say about Sarah Palin’s speech regarding many comments including “you must be right with God” but I had to turn it off, because I got sick of hearing Elizabeth chatter away. I am sorry, but that woman irritates the heck out of me. But getting back to the Sarah issue, hopefully she will be seen for the person she really is because if John McCain was elected and something happened to him, this country would be a disaster with Mrs. Palin at the helm.

Frannie, I can relate to this because my Mother just passed away too. My sisters and I cared for our Mom, before her passing.

Frannie, I think you must have did a lot of essay writing in school. You kind of got off the subject too.

I have to disagree because I think that Hillary has proved she would be well suited as the President or Vice President. In the event that something should happen to the President (God forbid) I want to know the VP would be very qualified to take over. She fits that qualification 100%.,

She’s going to be 50? My advice……enjoy your kids and enjoy your life. If you look younger than 50…….without makeup that is………enjoy it while you can!

As a suggestion from a friend, who married a guy she met on line and is very happy, I tried on-line dating too. It didn’t work out for me. The guys were never EVER what they first seemed to be. Most were looking for some woman to take care of them either financially or sexually. PLEASE! Give me a break! I am now with a wonderful man who I met because my daughter introduced me to him. Her instincts on what is best for me, was sure better than mine!

It was interesting to read this since I just watched a movie about her life, on TV yesterday. It was on Lifetime channel and it was called “Blonde”. In the movie there were two guys who definitely used Marilyn for their own selfish reasons and one of them was Charlie Chaplan’s grandson. He later died in the movie. Was this fictional or true? Did he and his friend use Marilyn in so many sad ways? (sexually and financially) If anyone has the real truth I would be interested to know as I didn’t see anything in Liz’s article , unless I missed it.
