HI Frannie, I give you credit to be able to ride both western & english.  I was trained to ride english and when I went to the week long centered riding class at a ranch in the Idaho Bitttersweet Mountains I had the hardest time making the switch to western.

Frannie, you have lived a life rich in so many experiences and people.  Loved reading this post of yours.

I also loved riding - took centered riding classes as well.  I found controlling a horse helped me in my management and leadership skills with people and the looking at your goal - not the short term obstacles, instilling confidence through body language etc. Great lessons.  I have mixed feelings about the race tracks.   Never went until a few years ago when my husband took me.  I bet with his aid and won.  But I am not a gambler and prefer to look at the beauty of the horses.  I would love to go to the Kentucky Derby sometime however.

Maggie, Obama  charged each of his cabinets to cut a pitence from their budgets and announced this with great pride.  He is micromanaging and over reaching and in this one area he should have been aware of a $300,000 PR stunt in this horrible economy with federal & state goverments going broke.

I agree Llaurie, another case where the press does not press for the hard answers.  The press is in Obama’s control as much as the other 2 branches of government.  A democracy like outrs cannot function as it should if the press isn’t being the watchdog.  The failure of the press to be the watchdog  is as much to blame for our economic collapse along with the corruption in banks and negligence of federal regulatiors.

The check and balance of 3 separate branches of govt is no longer working.  Just watch with this bankruptcy of Chrysler - "they" hand picked the judge they wanted (not how it is supposed to be done- which is more of a lottery draw) "They" selected to file in NYC- and a state court where the judges are subject to the political process of elections and campaign fund raising- unlike a federal judge.  Now even though every lawyer says bankruptcy cannot get done in 30-60 days but more like 6 months to years…well lets see if this judge bows to Obama’s demands.  So Congress is controlled by Obama, and now this will be proof the courts are controlled by Obama.  Our laws state secured debt holders ("greedy unpatriotic speculators") have priority over the unsecured debtors (UAW) .  If this judge does not uphold our laws we have our fate clearly in front of our eyes.  No private capital will come back into our economy and in a few years we will be a bankrupt nation.  People- wake up- we no longer are ruled by our Constitution and laws.

Barbara, this casting director did say many shows closed early last December because of the economy.  What you said makes sense.  I just love your city and the theatre!  This casting guy said "Hair" was pretty good.  He snubbed his nose at Mary Poppins (which we did see in London).  I am intrigued with the off- Broadway plays now.  Oh- and we went to a wonderful place to have a drink afterwards : One if By Land  - awesome!!!!!

No amount of criticism seems to change the behavior of these journalists.  They don’t seem to think we are talking about THEM - must be the other journalists.  They just keep doing what they have been doing.  If they are that obtuse- how are they ever going to get to the heart of a story?

I grew up with 4 brothers and went nuts living in a female dorm my first year in college.  I couldn’t live with women - I can’t put up with the catty moody tempermental ways of females.  I feel very foreign whenever I have to relate to girls who fall into that mold.  They are just too much effort and work to try and figure out and "handle" properly.

I feel with any solicitor that if they can be so rude as to ignore my refusal and be obnoxiously persistent then I can be so rude as to shut the door or hang up the phone on them.
