Diane von Furstenberg: 'Fear is Not an Option'

Diane’s wrap dress in 1977 was the first dress I owned since the hippy age of torn jeans and pant suits. That wrap dress with my first pair of heels were worn on my first job interviews after college. She brought feminine beauty back to women’s clothing.

On the Candidates and the Campaign Trail

I really wish people would quit blaming Hillary for anything and everything bad that Bill did. I also think the race bating has been started and perpetuated by Obama’s camp. I beleive they were hoping and searching for an opportunity to jump on anything that could be miscontrued to be racist and they found it with the MLK and LBJ comment- nothing racist or demeaning with that one but they made it out to be. Then they misrepresented the “fairytale” comment , which was not racist- it was about Iraq, and then they capitalized on the hightened sensitivity with the Jesse Jackson comment. I am not racist and I fear that the racial card desired by Obama to solidify the black vote will set our country back many decades in the progress we have made concerning racism.

Should Silda Spitzer stand by her man?

I think it is so demeaning to the wife to have to “stand by her man” especially right after learning or confronting this most terrible of betrayals. We all seem to know it is a PR type of event to protect any career potential left for the man. Dignity for women please and Stay home. Let the selfish destructive men fend for themselves out of respect- or at least a public display of respect- for their wives and family. And each time comedians joke about men in these betrayals, I bet it reopens the wound in the wife no matter how old of a wound it may be. And I do not believe it really bothers the men being joked about because this kind of behavior is condoned “wink wink” behavior in the men’s clubs. I feel so sorry for all of the women that have had to publically or privately deal with this betrayal. And I wish any blame directed toward the woman for possibly causing this betrayal would stop. Of course, battered women are blamed especially by the batterer for causing the need to be battered.

Ask Lesley: 'I Like to Joke That I Had My Opinions Surgically Removed'

I commend you for reporting the news and showing discipline to keep your views in check. Unfortunately with all of the many news outlets today - many 24/7- each one seems to have their niche market that they pander to helping ratings by distorting or at best blurring the facts with their interjected opinions. Op Ed sessions are fine as long as the viewer is not being confused between facts and opinions. But human nature being what it is, many people need confirmation that others hold the same opinions as theirs - so these niche news reports will get the ratings and biased news will be self perpetuating.

Welcome to wowOwow and Thank You!

I do hope that we change the world. As a working woman of 25 years in the automootive industry - gender discrimination, unequal pay and sexual harrassment are still rampant. We have one last “push” to birth our equality. I hope the overt sexism we have seen in this election enlightens and unites women to the prevelent acceptance and comraderee “humor” of degrading women. I have also been so discouraged by the sexism in women toward women. I hope this site for women unites women beyond just “hair days”.
