As an avid gardener I have noticed changes in my own space. Some plants survive over the winter that never would 20 years ago. When there are fires ravaging the west coast we eventually get downpours on the east coast. Definitely a cause and effect happening. SES http://www.metalcyberspace.com

I went 5 years without watching any TV 1998-2003 (except for one day 9/11) then I discovered the batteries had leaked, rotted and dried in my remote. Now I have a new TV/VCR/DVD/CD player & remote which I leave on but mostly listen to through my wireless headset while I work. SES http://www.sarantos.com

I’m a night owl so I’m awake then. 4:30am is my favorite time of the day. It’s so peaceful and feels like my own private world. I love it. :) SES http://www.sarantos.com

I only need five and a half to 6 hours of sleep. I’m a night owl. Always have been and always will be. If I sleep longer than 6 hrs I feel wretched. I quit drinking coffee 3 years ago and I only drank it back then to relax not wake up. Everyone is different! Why should we all have to sleep the same? Sometimes I skip sleeping then need to tack on an extra 2 hours for every day of sleep skipped so if I stay up 2 days in a row I need to sleep 8 hrs. If I stay up 3 days in a row I will need to sleep for 10 hrs to get back on track. When I reach the point when I start to nod off if I stay awake through that 20 minute period then I get a second wind and can stay up another 24 hours. The odd part is that I have noticed I’m even more efficient that second day. Everything seems slow around me and I speed up. I’m more aware of every little detail in my work. The only down side is that my body feels cold like hypothermia is setting in. I’ve done this for at least 30 yrs and so far it hasn’t affected me at all. I guess I will catch up on my sleep when I’m dead which I don’t plan on happening for a long way off. I expect to live way past 120. :) SES http://www.sarantos.com

I shouldn’t laugh but can’t help it. It’s so sad that men actually believed this stuff about women. My own true story: I went to apply for a job as an apprentice but never even made it into the building. The owner told me through the shop window that I wouldn’t like the job because it was mostly dirty manual labor. Years later, when I was working for his girlfriend he actually said “I wish I could find an employee like Susan.” I looked at him and told him that he did but never gave me a chance and described the first encounter in detail. After that he hired mostly women and didn’t second guess people applying for jobs. http://www.sarantos.com
