My Comments (12 so far…)

In the face of these economic times, what has been your largest rethink?

We are currently in foreclosure…month 5. The bank has NOW offered for modify our loan. I faxed all the paperwork in 2 weeks ago, but still haven’t heard a word. I asked them to modify in month 2, but they refused. So, now, as the foreclosure is a permanent part of our credit rating…I have watched our scores plumment. I worry most about saving my house, and how in the world we can rebound our credit ratings. UGH!!

If you had one million dollars to donate to charity, what cause would you support?

My gift would go to my passion…the same passion I have been working at for over 10 years…child passenger safety. I agree with some earlier statements that ONE MILLION is not enough nationally, so I would keep it local. Car crashes are the #1 killer of children under the age of 14. Not enough is being done to protect kids in cars. And parents aren’t paying enough attention to the probelm. Education is the key. My 2 cents.

Would you rather have more time or more money?

As a stay-at-home-mom, I have time. I may not manage it well all the time, and some days I have too much of it…I get bored easy. What I don’t have is money. We get by, pay our bills, but it’s always a struggle.

What's the first thing you do the second you get home?

I always wash my hands…first thing!!

OUCH! Killer diets, strange-food fads, risky plastic surgery: Have you ever put your health at risk for the sake of beauty?

This question is timely for me. I have been overweight since my kids were born…thay are 12 and 7 now. That “I just had a baby” excuse wasn’t working anymore. I have a wonderful doctor who has revoluntionalized dieting for me and many others. I have had to re-think the way I eat, how I eat, and when I eat. It’s differnet for everyone. I have lost, albeit slowly, 43 lbs in 14 months. It may not seem like alot, but the changes I’ve made in my eating are forever…..NOW, when I reach my goal weight, which is still 35 lbs off, I am getting a tummy tuck. After 2 c-sections, no amount of sit-ups is going to remove the tire around the incision area. I wouln’t necessarily consider a tummy tuck “putting my health at risk”-I already did that by being overweight. I consider it a congratulatory, private, means to an end…a “hooray for me” type of thing. I’ve never considered any other type of elective surgery….it’s not really me!!

Who Would You Love to be in the Dark With for Earth Hour?

Sadly, my hubby will not be home on that day, so if I might induldge in my fantasy life, if but only for a moment….Pierce Brosnon, dressed like 007, of course!!

What is the biggest lie you have ever believed?

The lie that he had really divorced his wife, even producing divorce papers. I was still suspicious, and took the papers down to the courthouse, and found out the papers we actually his sister’s and he had altered them to make them look like his own. He’s dead now, literally.

Let's Balance This Obama Thing Out

Whoppi…I know the race issue is important to you. I applaud you for your convictions. I watch you everyday on The View. As a white woman, race is not something I deal with personally. I have dealt with other discriminations, like being overweight, but it’s hardly the same. There are a couple of things that bother me: 1) I don’t think Obama should be held responsible for something someone else said…whether he shares the opinion or not is NOT the issue. Freedom of speech is the issue. If I vote for Obama (I am undecided currently) it would have nothing to do with what the Reverend said or didn’t say. 2) I don’t mind discussing race, or any other discriminating factor, BUT this Obama/Reverend issue is overshadowing the issues of this country…..I am scared to death about the economy and I’d much rather hear how “A Candidate” is going to fix it. Thanks for listening :)

Have you ever cheated on your partner?

I’ve been cheated on, but never the cheat-er :)

If Senators Clinton, Obama and McCain were cars -- what would they be?

Joan…that comment about “the blue dress tangled in the rearview mirror” cracked me up. Thanks for the early morning laugh!!

Where are you putting your money? Stocks? Bonds? Real estate? Under the mattress?

what money?? we struggle just to make ends meet each month, and we make good money!!
