Liz Smith: Sarah Palin's Ex-Almost-Son-in-Law From Hell

I think rather it is the other way around - Sarah Palin must surely be the Ex-Almost-Mother-In-Law-From Hell. This woman needs to know she is not in contol of everyone around her and that they must live & abide by her religious fanatacism. She is clearly cunning, egotistical, ruthless and determined to have things her way…I think she is a very dangerous person to be in pollitics & forming public policies. Anyone who thinks God is talking to them and directing their lives is a lunatic. God gave everyone a brain & free will…most people anyway. More power to Levi…tell it like it is, kid!

Marlo Thomas Recalls Her Favorite Scenes From 'I Love Lucy' and Carol Burnett's 'Gone With the Wind'

I was never a Carol Burnett fan, but the only I Love Lucy episode that can make me laugh out loud every time is the "Grape Stomping Episode" in the wine vat. Truly hysterical and I heard Lucille Ball say that much of it was unscripted & spontaneious, which makes it even funnier. Hope you don’t mind a man’s input.

From Lucille Ball to Ellen DeGeneres to Chelsea Handler, what comedienne cracks you up?

I don’t find Ellen DeGeneres or Chelsea Handler funny at all. Neither one has ever made me laugh. I think some of the funnier comediennes on tv were …, Julie Kavner, Nancy Walker, Cloris Leachman, Valerie Harper, Estelle Ghetty, as for stand up, I think Paula Poundstone is pretty funny. I don’t understand why she doesn’t have her own show.

Q & A With Dr. Wayne Dyer, Author of Excuses Begone!

Nice interview, good advice, but just common sense…

Living Legend Raquel Welch, by Liz Smith

Raquel, like Sophia Loren, is an ageless beauty, although I think Raquel has held up even better. Our paths crossed at various times through the years, I happened to witness her in 2 different car accidents, one off Sunset Blvd. in West Hollywood and one in Benedict Canyon in Beverly Hills. Made me wonder if I was bad luck for her or if she was just a bad driver. Another time I worked for an Interior Design firm and I was fortunate that she was my client, Other than a bed, she only needed odds and ends, we would load up her SUV, she would take "stuff" home to try, but return most of it. She was in the process of moving from one house to another and needed some "decorative accessories". Even in her baseball cap and jeans she was stunning, always pleasant, paid me nice compliments, and signed 2 photos fo rme, 1 from her personally and the other with Rex Reed from "Myra Breckenridge". She always said she would come in when she "looked better" and we could have a picture taken together, but she never did, before I left the firm. No picture with Raquel is my loss, but I sure there was no way she could have "looked better", no matter what she was wearing.

Obama Birth Certificate 'Birthers' Surface Again as President Tries to Ease Concerns Over Health Care (Videos)

Of course the conspiracy over where Obama was born rages on….because the lunatic press keeps giving the lunatic right wing nut jobs coverage…why pay any attention to these crazy people, the whacko who shot the security guard at the Holocaust Museum was one of these "birthers"…. these are crackpot fringe loonies who should be neither seen nor heard….why are they given so much attention when there are important issues to discuss…look what the media created with the looney-tunes Joe the Plumber, a man who can’t utter a single word of intelligilble English….seems like the media likes this BS and are largely responsible for creating these monsters out of America’s bile heap..

Liz Smith: Angie and Brad's Bonanza of Birthdays

This picture of the Brangelina Family reminds me of how ridiculous these people are. They live their lives like a traveling circus, exploiting their children along with themselves. To most people, their private lives are personal and sacred….but not to these folks….The show must go on.

Candice Bergen's Most Spectacular Beauties List

It’s hard to get past the beauties of the ages…..they are/were beyond compare. Elizabeth Taylor, first & foremost. Ava Gardner, Hedy Lamarr, Cyd Charisse, Today it’s hard to say…Angelina Jolie is the obvious one…I can’t think of anyone these days who stops the world on it’s axis…like they used to do..

Liz Smith Remembers a 'Simply Gorgeous' Elizabeth Taylor

I used to do in-store promos for Elizabeth Taylor’s Passion years ago. I have only 1 picture from those days. I’ve always had her Passion For Men although I don’t really like it. She was by every measure the greatest beauty in the history of the known universe. I met her in 1985 or so, at the 1st APLA "Committment to Life Award" at the BonAventure Hotel downtown about the time of Rock Hudson’s passing. Her eyes are mesmerizing…at least they were then. I knew well Bill Meinsenheimer of APLA who in those days was a friend of Elizabeth. All the things people say about the magnitude of her beauty, even still in those days, may be a little worn out and trite, but I think they are still ture, nonetheless.

Michael Jackson's Daughter, Paris Jackson, Speaks: 'Daddy Has Been the Best Father' (Video)

By far the most touching moment beyond any other tribute: Michael’s daughter Paris.

Mariah Carey’s dress was inappropriate - low cut to her belly button.

It was about Michael’s memory, not Mariah’s mammaries.

Did LaToya deliberately wear a hat that hid her entire face?

Ann Coulter Explains Palin's Exit

Now why doesn’t Ann Coulter explain her own exit…?

Liz Smith: Remembering My Michael Jackson

I think ,like Elvis, Michael was an advanced soul, frustated by being earthbound and unable to traverse and taste the boundlessness of the universe. They both reached higher than worldly means would allow and were frustrated that they had already fulfilled their purpose on earth and were ready to expand their soul’s expression on a higher plane. They had evolved here on earth to the end of their usefulness to themselves and were simply "hanging in" and waiting in abject frustration for their "time" to come.

To Dear Michael:

"Now cracks a noble heart…..Good night Sweet Prince…

And flights of angels sing the to thy rest."

You are walking in the woods and a UFO lands near you. Nonthreatening aliens offer you a ride. How do you react?

I would take the ride, period. I would be so curious to know more about them, hopefully some earth shattering secrets of the universe, that I would jump in, buckle up, and say "Lay it on me baby."

Who is your favorite TV dad?

The question isn’t who would you want as your "father figure"….?

I think Dick Van Dyke for a TV dad was pretty cool…..

Also Lorne Greene on "Bonanza"…
