Ann Coulter Explains Palin's Exit

Patricia, did you see/hear that yourself on the network news?  If so, that would seem to be a somewhat more credible source.  I am reading and hearing so much conflicting information I don’t know what to believe.  I think I am going to reserve judgement at this point and just wait and see what happens.

No, (and I am not taking your statement personally) I meant that as a totally neutral observation.  But I think we can safely assume that few of the founders consider Ann Coulter to be a "friend".  In reading through the threads, it’s almost like witnessing a feeding frenzy.  It just struck me that they tossed that little nugget out as bait.

Actually, my feeling about whether Palin made a fatal mistake (or a stroke of genius) is…time will tell

Is it just me…or is introducing a topic, any topic, by Ann Coulter under the heading A Friend Stopped By a bit like releasing the scent of blood to a tankful of sharks?  I have this mental image of the powers that be saying "Watch this, guys!".

I read somewhere that Debbie Rowe might actually stand a better chance of gaining custody than some think.  I believe it had to do with the fact that, even though she relinquished her parental rights, she had not been determined to be an unfit parent by authorities.  Therefore, since she is the birth mother she still may have some rights under the circumstances.  Please don’t quote me on that, though!  I’ve read and heard so much about this that my head is reeling.

They are lovely children, aren’t they?  I just hope that it turns out for the best for them.  Not knowing any of the people involved personally, it’s hard to know what that is.  I would hate to see the youngest separated from his older siblings.

Thank you so much for posting that link, Karen.  I think I saw this gentleman on TV awhile back.  This is exactly my reason for asking why MJ might not have chosen this route to deal with the problem.  As a high profile person, it would seem to have been the method least likely to draw attention to the problem, and cause him a lot less grief.  Perhaps it was not an option in MJ’s case but I did wonder.  I think my question was misunderstood.  Perhaps this will make it clearer.

Ah Victoria, a pleasure as always!  How would he darken the light patches?  With a little something I like to call make-up maybe?  But, hey, it was just a question.

The term to which you refer?  I’ve never heard of it either.  So, no, to my knowledge it is not something white people call blacks (!!!!!).  I was inquiring that very question of A Amedee, who used the term, so you might ask her/him, though.

Thanks so very much for your delightful response, Victoria!  You really are a ray of sunshine on an otherwise cloudy day - and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.  So don’t go changing….  You have a lovely day now.

Ah yes, I was just reading about that.  All is revealed.  So much for a higher calling…

I suppose he choose the method that he thought would work best for him.

Yes, in the end, I suppose that is what it comes down to.

Well, I agree that his father was likely the source of many of his issues.  Which is a real pity, because he was a very nice looking young man.  I did realize, though, that he could not reverse the damage and make his skin permanantly darker all over if he did have vitiligo.  But then, if I understand correctly, you can’t permanently bleach skin either (can you?).  So either way would be strictly a temporary cosmetic procedure.   I wondered why he opted to cosmetically go lighter rather than darker.  Whatever the reason, I don’t think it means he hated black people.

I’ve been trying to find out if you can commit to another term as Governor if you plan to run for President.  I can’t find a definitive answer.  But I did see that there is concern that Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal may run for another term only to then jump ship and run for President.  Apparently some feel (rightfully in my opinion) that he would be giving his constituents the shaft if he does do that.

At the risk of sounding vengeful, I think I agree with C Hardy on this one.  As the mother of a 14 year old, I know I have always thought about her during the day, even when we are apart.  I wonder how her day is going, etc…  Even if you momentarily forget, seems like your memory would be jogged at some point.  Maybe you see the child’s picture on your desk and remember.  Or something.  It’s not "out of sight, out of mind".  I just don’t get it.

LIZ SMITH FLASH! Diana Ross Backup Mom for Michael Jackson's Kids?

Good question.  I don’t know, she might not.

Then comes the skin condition which many thinks was a theory, and an excuses to bleach his skin because he did not want to be black, but if people see a dark skin person with vitiligo and what it does to the pigmentation of the skin; them one understand why he bleached his skin. He was fortunate to have the money to have the option of bleaching his skin or living with it until he looks like a patch cow.

A, I don’t presume to argue your point.  I don’t know what his motivations were.  But, assuming he did in fact have vitiligo, why would he not choose to darken the light patches rather than lighten the dark patches?  That way he would have maintained his natural appearance.

Also, and I don’t mean to show my ignorance, but what are "geese blacks"?

Oh yes, the gloves will come off soon.  I think it is going to get pretty ugly.  But, if anyone has a shred of decency, they will try to do the right thing for these beautiful children (and they truly are beautiful).  Unfortunately, I don’t think we can count on that.
