Greta Van Susteren Takes on Letterman, Sally Quinn for Palin-Bashing (Video)

GVS can be as outraged as she likes.

Who really believes that Greta Van Susteren can make a unbiased statement about Palin after all that has come out about GVS and her husband’s involvement with the Palin camp?

As for Levi, I blame Palin.  She should have just left him out of it during the campaign.  If she had, he wouldn’t be her worst publicity nightmare month after month.  She created the monster, and now she has to deal with it.  "You reap what you sow". It doesn’t get much simpler than that.

Was Nancy Pelosi Right? How Much Did CIA Keep From Congress?

What is wrong with Target purses?  I mean she use to shop there, too good for them now?

You have got to be kidding me with this statement!  I do not want the FLOTUS carrying a Target bag to world events! Let’s be real here.

If she did you know what everyone would say?  That she has no class, that she embarrassed this country, and she should dress appropriately for her position as First Lady of this great country!  Michelle Obama is damned if she does, and damned if she doesn’t.

Right now, lots of people would like to make $875 a month, but you know what? There will ALWAYS be people in this sort of financial position, regardless of how well the country is doing.  So whether Michelle Obama has an expensive bag or two doesn’t make any difference whatsover on this front.

The First Lady is always dressed appropriately, and she is never ostentatious or ridiculously overdressed.  Not only that she "recycles" her wardrobe and is often seen in the same pieces worn different ways at her public events.  Sounds pretty frugal to me, and sets the right tone of "Use what you already have!"

Sarah Palin: Ethics Allegations Are 'Bull Crap,' But 'I Am a Fighter'

Thanks!

"Actually, I’m an Independent" is like the new "secret" code.  Like it somehow "validates" their point of view, even though it’s the same talking points we see all the time.

Sarah Palin: Ethics Allegations Are 'Bull Crap,' But 'I Am a Fighter'

…because we are a divided polarized country thanks to Obama.

Revisionist ridiculousness.  Our country became deeply polarized during the Bush years, and to say this rancor between the parties JUST started when Obama was elected is truly absurd.

Sarah Palin: Ethics Allegations Are 'Bull Crap,' But 'I Am a Fighter'

Even the super Obama fans here don’t defend his every move and every action all the time. They aren’t on here exonerating him every time he says or does something that could be construed as remotely negative.

But back to the topic at hand.  Sarah Palin has forever branded herself as a quitter, and it’s going to be hard for anyone but her superfans to trust her with any sort of important political office again. There’s always the possibility that when things get tough in the "new job", she just might take the easy way out and quit, once again leaving someone else to pick up the pieces.  That’s not an image that instills public trust for a majority of people.

More Embryonic Stem Cell Lines to Be Used in Research, But 'Ethical' Concerns Abound

I’m looking forward to some great discoveries in the next decade or so because of this new research.  I do hope diseases like MS, alzheimer’s, parkinsons, etc., are on their way to becoming a thing of the past.  To have great health breakthroughs would be so wonderful for so many families.

Sarah Palin: Ethics Allegations Are 'Bull Crap,' But 'I Am a Fighter'

Well, I hardly think that many of the "lapdog media" and pundits and critics have been fair to the president, but you don’t see me here  defending every single action, speech, blah blah blah, he makes.  He’s not going to be right 100% of the time in my book, because no one ever is.  No one.

Even if the press had covered her exactly as you think she should be covered, it doesn’t make her RIGHT 100% of the time.  And to constantly defend her as always the victim is ridiculous.  She is human, she is flawed, she makes mistakes. Period.

And still, all this "she fell on her sword" nonsense isn’t gonna sink in with the masses.  She quit, bottom line.  Sarah Palin is a quitter who can’t take it when things get tough.  That’s the message that people have, that is the message people are gonna take with them.  it doesn’t matter how loud you scream "Unfair!"  It doesn’t matter.  No one is listening, the impression is made, time for the next news story. …

Sarah Palin: Ethics Allegations Are 'Bull Crap,' But 'I Am a Fighter'

I’m here because the absolute worship of Sarah Palin mystifies me.  This is a woman no one here knows personally, the only "facts" we have come from the press from both the right and left sides.  So based on whatever PRESS you have read, you have vowed basically to fight to the death to defend her and whatever she does and whatever she says no matter what. "Palin fell on her sword to protect Alaska business?"  You buy that? From a politician? Really? Because Sarah Palin only speaks the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth 100% of the time? Really?

Like I mentioned, I like the president, but I don’t think what he says is true 100% if the time.  Why? Because in the end he’s a politician, too.  I believe his intentions are good, but I’m not ready to "go to the mattresses" every time the man opens his mouth—especially if his actions are questionable at best.

Slouching Toward Paradise, by Katherine Russell Rich

I loved that whole passage too: When I was six, on a trip into town, we’d passed a Chinese woman speaking in what seemed to be cymbals, in sounds like shimmering copper. What, I wondered, if I could suddenly understand her? In this language that gleamed, you’d hear secrets told in angles and planes.

Love it!

Sarah Palin: Ethics Allegations Are 'Bull Crap,' But 'I Am a Fighter'

Honestly, I’m completely baffled by the Palin worship that goes on.

Admittedly, I do like the president, but I don’t think the sun rises and sets on him, and I don’t agree with everything he’s done. If he does something that I think is wrong, I’m gonna say it.  If he does something good, I’m gonna say it.

The one thing I’m NOT going to do is twist myself into a pretzel trying to make up excuses/reasons why everything the president says and does is perfect and right and that the whole world is just against him.  Oh, and that it’s just so unfair!

This insane need to defend Palin’s every action with such vociferous protests to any criticism is borderline nutso.  Seriously.  No one is right all of the time, and that includes Sarah Palin.

The bottom line is she quit and will be labeled a quitter by everyone who doesn’t care about reading all the little reasons why. (Which by the way is a majority of people in this country.)

No one cares why. They don’t. This is an ADD country who gets their news by reading headlines.  Sarah Palin quit as governor half way through her term and the "Quitter" label is going to be permanently affixed to her no matter how many reasons she gives.

Our Beauty Guru, Paul Podlucky, Looks at the Bottom Line of Beauty

It would be nice to have a magazine with clothes that I would actually buy. I routinely see beautiful shirts and blouses in mags with price tags of $250 and up.  Be for real, I would never pay that much for a shirt/blouse no matter how beautiful.  I was impressed with the July issue of Lucky magazine—the whole issue was about getting great style for $100 or less.  Each clothing item, shoe, bag was $100 or less, and it was a really great issue.  It was super to actually see something very nice, look at the price and not fall over from sticker shock.

An Aerial Tour of the Homes of Bernie Madoff and the Bailed-Out Bankers

The bankers whose houses are featured here should be punished, but it’ll never never happen and they know it.  They were allowed to perpetrate the biggest fraud in history with no consequences. Not only that, the very people they jerked around now have to pay to clean up their messes. The joke is on us each and every day for years to come, and they are all probably still laughing and toasting each other for pulling it off.

Ruth Madoff 'Embarrassed and Ashamed,' 'Betrayed' by Husband's Scam

Just like everyone else, I don’t believe her.  If the accounts by the Sec’y are true then she should go to jail too.  Ugh! Disgusting!

Liz Smith: Going to the Dogs With Janice Dickinson

Janice D was not the first supermodel.  Sheesh.  Janice was hotter than hot in the 70s, but what about Jean Shrimpton or Twiggie or Varushka from the 60’s? Or Suzy Parker, who was the little sister of Dorian Leigh from the 40’s/50s?  Janice’s drug use has pickled her brain!

She messed up her face with all the surgery too, so her former beauty is gone, gone, gone.
