My Comments (7 so far…)

Have you ever purchased a product from a TV infomercial?

We bought the grass that will even grow on concrete.  It doesn’t even grow on dirt.

Tell us: What about First Lady Michelle Obama most interests you?

Wow. Such venom for a woman who is being admired worldwide. As an outsider, as in Canadian, I just have to tell you that this woman is universally admired by everyone I’ve heard speak about her.  Parsing the words from one comment seems so unfair.  I remember when she said she had never been so proud to be an American before, that she spoke from the heart.  Here is a woman who had likely been marginalized her whole life by virture of the colour of her skin and now she and her husband were accepted as equal.  Pretty powerful stuff.

I love her style but, by that, I mean the whole package.  Her fashion, her humour, her love of her family, her down-to-earthness, for want of a better phrase.

I hope you all cherish her and show the great American tradition of admiring the First Lady.  She deserves no less.

Princess Anne to Become 4th in Line to British Throne?

I think the changes would be great.  I’m a Canadian so they are our monarchy too and I’m very much in favour of getting rid of the discrimination against women and Catholics.  I don’t think religion should have anything to do with any major desicion outside the church.

I’m hoping Charles will be too old to take over from his mother, though I’m sure William will want some years to live a life before having to become the monarch.  Harry would be a hoot but I doubt he’ll ever attain the title "King of England".  Too juicy to contemplate though.

Liz Smith: Africa Disses Madonna

I agree that Malawi should get over itself as far as Madonna’s morals are concerned.  Let some child have a chance at a life, no matter how weird it will be with the fruitcake.

I hope the GLAAD awards get some publicity. It’s awesome how much more the straight and gay communities are becoming one and breaking down the bigotry separating them.

Perez Hilton, in my opinion, is a disgusting nobody, who is being given repectability for no good reason.  Have  you people ever READ his blog. It’s disgusting, and a sad commentary on where our world is headed. Gives gossip a dirty name.

Love Mary Tyler Moore.  She’s never failed to make me smile.

On '60 Minutes': How Reliable Are Eyewitnesses? (Video)

In the medical office where I work, the first question we ask is "have you been here before?"  People will swear we’re wrong when we check and tell them that "actually, you HAVE been here".  They can’t believe it. Amazes me every time and it’s made me think about witnesses and testimony.

Candice Bergen on Steve Martin and Kristin Scott Thomas

Oops. This was supposed to be about what made you smile today. Oh well.

Candice Bergen on Steve Martin and Kristin Scott Thomas

I just discovered this website while watching Liz Smith being interviewed on TV.  I have to say it’s really a website I know I will enjoy and visit daily. So many of my favourite women contributors.

I do wish all the videos were available in Canada but a lot are so no worries.

What made me laugh today was watching Jon Stewart’s tirade about the learned financial geniuses.

What makes me smile on a daily basis are any and all pictures or videos of Clay Aiken, any time I see Candice Bergen, and my family.
