To the above parties - let’s have serious and intelligent discussions and cease with calling each other catty, snarky and all of the other nonsense.

You can like or dislike the current President or wish that a different person or party were in charge.  You can also do so without making personal attacks on each other or sweeping generalizations about "those people" who disagree with you.

Each one of you is smarter and deserves better than that.  Have a conversation here like you would if you had to say what you are posting to the person’s face.  If you can’t, please don’t post.

Back on-topic of this article please.  We do have a Book forum if you’d like to discuss writing and publishing in general.

For all of the above parties - it would be fantastic if rather than copying and pasting the entire article, you simply gave a 2-4 line summary of why the article was a great read, how it adds to the specific article you are commenting on and then provide a link to the other site. 

Why?

- It helps the other site you are quoting in whatever their business model is (page views, etc.)

- It helps the other site by increasing their inbound links (search engine ranking)

- It is a better experience for readers on THIS site who want to know YOUR opinion and don’t want to scroll through long articles

- It decreases the risk of copying and pasting rogue html that often disrupts the reading experience and causes issues with the page rendering correctly.

Before everyone goes off on a copyright discussion, please be advised that it is on the back of the entity that believes their copyright HAS been violated to contact any publisher or persons to state that 1) copyright has been vioalted and 2) make the request to remove a copyrighted article.

That said - from a friendly standpoint, since a community is about sharing the commentary of an individual, it is great for the member posting to write their opinion and a summary (or a few lines) of the article they found interesting and then linking to it rather than pasting the whole article.  If other members wish to click and read that article it benefits the site that wrote the article and doesn’t disrupt the reading experience of other members who wish to not read the entire article at that time.
