What was your favorite book (or books) as a child?
I was (and still am) quirky, even as a child.
My all time favorite was "Happy Birthday To You!" By Dr.Seuss, it made me totally become obsessed with celebrating others’ birthdays (as well as my own)….also "Green Eggs and Ham", I loved the rhymes and Dr.Seuss’s humor.
Another favorite was a book of children’s poetry by Robert Louis Stevenson….(I can still recite "The Swing" or something to that effect)….it began "how would you like to go up in a swing, up in the air so blue? Oh I do think it the pleasantess thing, ever a child could do"…..

What habit do you have that is silly, time-wasting or childish that you can't abandon?
The unemployment rate is at a 26-year high. What's the longest stretch you've gone unemployed? How did you eventually find work?

Hi Chrome!
Nope it isn’t a dumb question at all. I don’t have the financial means to start a business on my own and I must say if I did it wouldn’t be in advertising! :)
I am looking at it as I am entering a new phase of my life and whatever is meant to be will be. I am leaving myself open to explore anything that may come my way or that I try and apply to that I think would interest me. I have faith that it will all work out.

Belinda thank you!
I am lucky though, I am married and for now my husband is employed. I am saying "for now" because he is approaching 60 and the Detroit Schools (where he is employed) has been cutting teachers like crazy and the "old timers" are tops on the list because they earn more.
Actually I have a dog too, (a Sheltie)………I love dogs as well but since I owned a cat longer I have a better understanding of them.
If your stereotype is that cat people are "crazy"………..YES I am!! lol
Nice to hear from you and thank you!

I am currently in my longest stretch of unemployment. I lost my job due to downsizing on March 7, 2007. I live in Michigan which is one of the hardest hit states economically due to it having been predominantly a manufacturing state.
I previously worked in Advertising for over 21 years.
I have been trying to "think outside of the box" to find a job, still no luck. I have a BA in Rhetoric and Communication (real marketable huh? lol). I have applied everywhere and anywhere (Whole Foods as a bagger, cook, deli) Various other retail establishments (I have no retail background and am over 50 hence no one wants to give you a chance) I have even applied for a waitress job (did that years ago and loved it), can’t even get that!!!
Right now I am doing some freelance unpaid writing for a local newspaper here, am hoping it might lead to a paid position somewhere. If anyone loves cats and would like to read/follow my blog it is http://opcatchat.blogspot.com Thanks!

Dining room table? Fur coat? A new house? What was your first 'adult' purchase?
Ok my first adult purchase wasn’t as impressive as a car but to me at the time it was HUGE!!
I was a waitress right out of college and I purchase a beautiful and looooong couch. Each end of the couch had a built in footstool (recliner)….I was so tickled and proud!
Funny when I waitressed and made next to nothing I always had money in my pocket and more money on me than when I had a really good job in later years! I didn’t even waitress at a nice restaurant, it was a restaurant in a Mall!
Are you photogenic?

Driving skills? Handwriting? What do you find is the strongest indicator of someone's personality?
Hi Chris!
Thanks for pointing that out to me. Honestly I was myopic in my comment and never thought about what you said. Thank you! You have changed my mind and I apologize for being so "black and white" I am not normally that way, must have been my mood.
