The Love Goddess: In Sickness and in Health ... But Hold the Sickness

The only reference I can account for is this…..When my sister suffered a brain aneurysm in Jan 04. She was hospitalized for 3 months and then went to a nursing home for a year. My brother-in-law (her husband of 24 yrs) stayed by her side the WHOLE time. She passed in April of 05 from complications.

I credit him to this day for that. However, he remarried within a year after her passing. I think it may have to do with how long the couple has been together.

Did You Ever See a Book Cry? by Sheila Nevins

I have lots of books in my home. I always buy hardcover, because I like to keep the books I read, so I can choose to reread them again later. I tried downloading books to read on my PC. It didn’t work too well. I sit in front of my computer all day and I do read a lot, but it’s mostly news and comments like on WoW.

I can’t seem to sit in front of my PC and read a book on my screen, and it would take too much paper and ink to print it. I don’t own and ipod or any other device that holds books, so for now I will stick to reading my hardbacks.

Dear Margo: When You Think You've Heard Everything ... You Haven't

Ltr #1 Keep in mind that she had her 1st child 12 years ago at the age of 15 and then child # 2 at 17, and then had 2 more. The letter writer doesn’t state at what age she had the fourth child. It could only be a few years. I find it hard to believe that someone can change that much in just a few years.

Political Cover Stars? Spare Me! by Mr. wOw

She posed for that picture for a different magazine. And yes, I think it does matter. A magazine should have to get permission before putting someones picture on or even in their magazine.

Political Cover Stars? Spare Me! by Mr. wOw

I agree on both subjects, Mr wOw. I don’t think our president should be displayed on the cover of any magazines. It just doesn’t seem proper to me.

I’m not sure what Newsweek’s goal was for that pic of Sarah Palin. Newsweek likes to stir up trouble.

The Palin Book, as Dear Margo Sees It

I saw the Oprah interview. I really expected her to scrutinize and patronize Sarah. It didn’t happen. She asked Sarah questions and then let her answer. I was impressed. Thank you Oprah for being civil.

Very well put deber B. I agree with you totally.

What was your favorite book (or books) as a child?

As I recall, my first all-time favorite book was "The Pokey Little Puppy" it was a Golden Book I believe. Then as a teenager it was "Little House on the Prairie" and Nancy Drew. I wasn’t fortunate enough to have them at home, I checked them out at the school library.

It's the Abortion Issue, Stupid, by Mr. wOw

I guess that’s why I live in a free country where I have the right to my opinion.I believe that life starts at conception and abortion is murder. I realize that sometimes there are extenuating circumstances, but I still feel the same way even when those situations arise.

I know there are a lot of people who agree with me and that is why this topic is always an issue during election campaigning. I also realize there are a lot of people who agree with you.

I don’t picket, rant, or make my opinion a conversation piece at gatherings. The people who make this decision will have to answer to GOD someday for their decision.

Apparently this subject strikes a sore spot with you. I won’t ask why. If a woman feels this strongly about the downs of pregnancy, then they should go to their local health department and get birth control. Which is very inexpensive, and then they won’t have to make the ultimate decision. They can also get help with all the other things you mentioned. There might be some discomfort, yes, but they should have thought about that before they had unprotected sex.

BTW, what about the babies right to choose his/her fate? Before you judge me as someone who may or should not have an opinion on this, I will say, I got pregnant at 16. I was fortunate enough to love the father so we married and started a family. And yes, my life changed forever. If I hadn’t chose to keep my baby, I would have chose adoption. I would have asked for help from anybody and everybody willing to help. There are plenty of resources and organizations out there to help woman who make these kind of mistakes.

If you had Warren Buffett's money, in what industry would you invest?

I would set up treatment centers all over the US, to help people with their mental and emotional problems. I have 3 family members right now with mental and addiction problems that can’t get the help they need because they are not rich.

These facilities cost a lot of money, and if you can’t dish out the dough, you get sent home with little help at all.

While driving? In the shower? During sex? Where and when do you do your best thinking?

I also think when I dream. I guess if I had done what you did and gotten up to write them down, I would have become a writer. I missed my calling in so many ways, oh well! Thanks Laurel for the story.

While driving? In the shower? During sex? Where and when do you do your best thinking?

You made me laugh Annie. Thank you! My thoughts went a little wild on that one.

While driving? In the shower? During sex? Where and when do you do your best thinking?

I am usually so tired at night I go right to sleep. But then I dream and then I wake up and think about things that I need to remember to do. I don’t get up and write them down so like Joan, most are lost to civilization. I wake up the next morning, and think what did I say I needed to do today? and of course don’t remember.

Death row executioners are just doing their job. They shouldn’t be blamed for what they do. The jury that convicted that person are the ones responsible for the death of that person. My point is, I think abortion should be illegal for everyone, rich and poor.
