Dear Margo: My Husband's Father and 'Grandma'
If my mother died and my father remarried, I have no problem with that woman being in my daughter’s life. However I would have an issue with my daughter calling her grandmother. My mother was her grandmother period. And if my father and or his "new wife" couldn’t respect that then we would have a problem. What is the insistence that she be called grandmother or any variation of that name if it bothers the husband whose mother did die and his wife? How about the father and the new wife realize that this is a sore subject and let her be called by her name.
