O.J. Simpson Found Guilty of Armed Robbery; Faces Life in Prison

You just have to love the irony of OJ being convicted on the same day he was found innocent thirteen years earlier!

Who won Thursday night's debate?

Interesting comments throughout the entire thread here. The deal is, numerous of you are right: Biden won. When Palin came out and announced that she wasn’t going to answers the questions Gwen or Biden would ask her in the way they wanted her to, I knew then it was not going to be good. As much as I like Gwen, shame on her for not pulling Palin back on track and make her answer the questions she was asked. A debate is not one person making up their own questions as they go along! That is not in the spirit of what a debate is supposed to be. Sarah Palin made me literally gag a few times between her winking and her colloquialisms, and her evasive tactics to use the few talking points she had memorized. And it took one hard-hearted person to not at least acknowledge Biden’s pain when he mentioned his deceased wife and daughter. The McCain campaign, the Republican pundits, and those all-spin guys at FoxNews can say what they like, but their girl is not a nice person.

Who won Thursday night's debate?

First of all Lynn, why are bringing up Bill Clinton in the middle of a discussion about a VP debate? But since you did, I think you should read a little before you makes statements are not truthful. If you will remember correctly, President Clinton bombed terror installations in Afghanistan and a chemicals factory in Sudan—there was no wag the dog going on except in certain people’s minds! And who cares about what happened with Monica? He lied about lying and he paid a high price for it. What kind of price should people pay for lying, Lynn? What should we do to George Bush and Dick Cheney for lying about Iraq? Shouldn’t they be made to do some sort of penance, too? If mean, if Clinton should be impeached and sent away for a blow job, what about a duo who has caused the deaths of too many people to count? And it sure is nice of you to use the old “Barack Obama doesn’t have experience and that’s why I am not going to vote for him” excuse.

Who won Thursday night's debate?

Mugsby, I absolutely adore Gwen Ifill. I look forward to her presence on Meet The Press because she is so darned smart! But, I think she lost control of the debate last night to Sarah Palin. Gwen should have been more forceful in how she asked Gov. Palin questions, especially after the good Gov. came out, guns blazing, saying that she wasn’t going to answer the questions like it was expected of her. If it had been me, I would have kept repeating the same question to Palin until she actually answered it. I found Palin unprofessional in her evasion of the questions. If she didn’t the answers, then she shouldn’t have been up on the stage.

Who won Thursday night's debate?

Diana, I keep praying that Dick Cheney will charged with war crimes. He is the most evil person on the planet. Forget his little list of evil-doers … he is the King evil-doer!

When is a big family too big?

Times have changed! In 1981 when my ex-husband I talked to adoption agencies after we found out that I was reproductively challenged, we were told that we had to have enough money in savings to last us a year and that I would have to quit work for at least one year if/when we received a child. There were references required from our minister, our doctors, and our employers, family investigations as well as investigations into our financial past. I am glad regulations have eased up. There ARE too many kids out there who need a good home.

A wowOwow Tribute to Paul Newman (photo essay)

No actor exhibited more class than Paul Newman. He was good-looking, cool, and just sexy! He was in most of the movies of my childhood that my mom dragged me to see from “Cat On A Hot Tin Roof” to “Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid” and all his movies in between. His acting was always so nuanced and just plain good. He was so different in every movie and viewers were always able to submerge themselves in those characters. Actors today who broadcast their every personal issue could learn a lot from him. It takes a lot now for the required “suspension of disbelief” that allows us mortals to see “stars” in their roles on the screen. More importantly, Paul had a good heart. He gave away millions to charitable causes. He lent a helping hand to those who needed it the most. It was obvious his charity wasn’t for show either, it was just a part of who he was. Probably from the part of him that didn’t approve of movie stars signing their audigraphs! My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and his family.

I noticed that, too, James. It irritated me greatly! That smirk that Bush II wears just angers me intensely.

Obama Camp Shoots Down Rumors of Biden Dropout

Fox “news” starts rumors, and other news outlets pick them up and repear then, and then people think it is true.

Life In the Little Lane: Edith Ann Is Looking for Another Line of Work

Dear Edith Ann, While math and science will get you more money, I would suggest you study history. I have to admit that I love it! You will find that history repeats itself (kind of like me seeing a copy of a dress I wore in 1974 at the mall the other day). Sometimes, it is good when that happens but most times not so much. If people had thought about it when George Bush wanted to start an expensive war with Iraq for his own personal edification, politicians and regular people should have looked in their history books to see what happens when you go to war in the Middle East. Nothing good, I can tell you. And I have to say that you are one smart little cookie with your comparison of Dick Cheney and Sarah Palin. I love animals and I don’t think they should be shot for sport—especially from a helicopter!! My grandpa gave me one of his piglets when I was your age. He kept him on his farm and raised him and I don’t think Grandpa or the pig would have allowed me to put any of my momma’s lipstick on the pig! I was very very very sad though when grandpa came to see us at Christmas and gave me a handful of cash because he sold my pig at market! And it wasn’t anything like when you say the piggie rhyme with your toes, either! My piggie became Sunday dinner for folks! Take heart, Edith Ann and dream big. You need to be whatever your heart leads you to be. Who knows … you could be the first Woman President!! And wouldn’t that be far out? Cheers …

Margo Howard: Thanks, Sandra Bernhard, for the Palin Jokes. Like We Needed This

{{sigh}} You can fool some of the people, some of the time? LOL But I have to say, I will be doing a better job of proofreading from now on.

Margo Howard: Thanks, Sandra Bernhard, for the Palin Jokes. Like We Needed This

Well … there was that great phase I went through after my divorce when I hated men!!!! LOL

Margo Howard: Thanks, Sandra Bernhard, for the Palin Jokes. Like We Needed This

And some of us went back to college after getting divorced at the age of 40 and are paying student loans at the age of 54 to show for it! As much as I hate writing that check every month, I love having two degrees.

Liz Peek: None of Us Will Find Ourselves at Our ATM Machines With No Money Coming Out

Why should I, and generations to come, have to pay for the stupidity and greed of those in the home mortgage field? Why didn’t George Bush do something before it got out of hand? Aren’t we already paying too high a cost for his ignorance and high-handed behaviors?
