Gemmel, as ONE feminist replying.. I don’t have a problem with sarah posing… she is an intellectual light weight ( and i say that with compassion) .. She is young, vibrant and healthy. no debate there. However, she isn’t fit to be a political leader, nor is she bright enough to….. to…. lead ANYone. She got where she got because she looks good. Newsweek AND Sarah are using this to exploit .. get it yet?

C Hardy, am sorry about your Nana and your Mom. I can tell you medical horror stories about my mother who had excellent insurance and lived in the US. (Trusting doctors and hospitals is a different story for a different day ) All i am saying is : i keep hearing second hand stories about British, French and Canadian health care systems which are meant to frighten folk yet I can testify First hand the kind of care I am getting. Yes we wait and yes i would like a better , quicker, error free system too but at least when I really need help, I do get it. Actually to be fair, the hospital and doctors i deal with can screw up just as much as the hospitals in NY and Calif that ‘took care’ of my mother. The real problem is doctors who get payed by the operation… and who get sued if they miss something so … nothing is simple.

I get a mammogram every year and it is uncomfortable and sometimes a bit painful. It is part of national health here in Canada. I also do self exams and have my partner assist.

From what I understand this panel of experts have been at this for TWO years now and this is what their final recommendations are. ( so NOTHING to do with Obama and the current health care crisis). I am not sure what or who to believe, the jury is still out as far as I am concerned. I will continue to do self exams and will follow what MY doctor ( whom i trust) recommends. Fortunately I am completely covered. Yeah Canada!!

Your ‘relatives’ in Canada must be going to walk-in clinics. Most of us ‘other’ Canadians have doctors with whom we make appointments to see. If necessary we are sent to specialists. Our system isn’t perfect but it is fair.

Sandy, EXCELLENT link. shouldn’t be missed. Ah , I feel for Liz. life is tough when it isn’t socially acceptable to flaunt one’s wealth and the government says no more handouts to the wealthy. I can see why she hates this administration so much.
