OMG, it’s time for us to use our common sense!  If you feel like you need a mammogram, then continue to get a yearly mammogram.  Continue to do the self-breast exams.  No one is telling you to STOP!  This was a stupid report!  Doctors don’t agree with it.  Why can’t we go after the people who came out with this report instead "politicizing" it!

Also, I just read a report that women under 21 may not even need a pap smear.  We were always told that as soon as young women become sexually active that they need to get pap smears.  Make your own decision.  Before last year (Obama was not president), I had a pap smear every year.  Last year, my doctor informed me that since I’m over "30", I would only need a pap smear every 3 years as long as I didn’t test positive for HPV.   Well, my sample was normal and I won’t have to another smear until 2011.  I am not running saying that this is an Obama conspiracy!

What you say makes a lot of sense.  It seems like the corporations own our government, and isn’t that a shame!  From Health Care, energy, environmental regulation, banking etc.  No one cares about the people.  The politicians are too worried about their "patrons". 

I believe in the Bible that it states that the "love of money is the root of all evil".  That love has left its destructive trail all over the place!

Wow!  Deber your claws have sprung into action this morning!  This is a great cover featuring the First Lady.  What’s wrong with that?  She’s an attractive, articulate, approachable and intelligent WOMAN.  Whether you like her husband’s policies or not, she’s a great role model!  

So what if she has makeup artists, hair stylists, etc to help her get ready for magazine covers.  I doubt there are too many of us women who consider ourselves "runway ready" when we first wake up in the mornings!

Neither Jon or Kate are willing to do what’s best for the children.  They both need to grow up.  I was hoping that someone would want to be the "bigger" person, but I guess not. 

On the bright side, I hear that the show will no longer be taping episodes as of November.

Whether nor not these women decide to stay in these marriages is their business, not ours.  I actually feel sorry for them.  They have to keep their emotions in check while the world looks on.  Many men and women cheat.  That’s a fact of nature!  Is it wrong?  YES!  Is it going to continue to happen?  YES! 

What bothers me are the politicians who want to pretend that they are sinless, and the rest of need to aspire to their "Christian walk".   They are no better than anyone, and maybe they need the votes so they pretend that they are morally superior.  The higher your pedestal, the harder your fall!

I think that I would rather them be up front and admit that he or she has problems "keeping their pants up" instead of those politicians who like to point out adulterous politicians while all along, they are slipping and sliding themselves.  (Sorry for the run on sentence).

I so miss Ann Richards!  Her drawl seemed to go on forever!  She was smart, gutsy, down to earth, but most of all she had COMMON SENSE. 

If she knew what trouble that Rick Perry has causing, she would come from beyond and knock some sense into him!

I read this story, and I’m truly appalled by what is going to happen to this young woman!

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — A judge in Malaysia has upheld a court verdict to cane a Muslim woman for drinking beer, news reports said Monday, re-igniting a controversy over Islamic justice in this moderate Muslim-majority country.

The Star newspaper’s Web site and national news agency Bernama said the chief Shariah judge of Pahang state ruled that a Shariah High Court’s verdict against Kartika Sari Dewi Shukarno, 32, was correct and should stay.

If the punishment is carried out, Kartika would become the first Muslim woman to be caned in Malaysia, where about 60 percent of the 28 million people are Muslims. No date was immediately set for the caning.

Kartika, a former model and nurse, was sentenced in July to six strokes of the cane and a fine of 5,000 ringgit ($1,400) for drinking beer in December 2007 at a beach resort in violation of Islamic laws. Islam forbids Muslims from drinking alcohol.

Kartika, who pleaded guilty, refused to appeal her sentence and was on the verge of being caned on Aug. 24. But the punishment was halted at the last minute following an uproar in the media and among rights activists.

Instead, the government asked the Shariah High Court Appeals Panel in Kuantan, the capital of Pahang, to review the verdict.

"I found that the High Court Judge had acted accordingly within his jurisdiction as provided" by relevant laws of Pahang state, Pahang Shariah Chief Judge Abdul Hamid Abdul Rahman told The Star.

"As such, the decision stays," he was quoted as saying.

He said it was now up to the Pahang Islamic Religious Department to implement the punishment. The department’s officials, who are like morality police, routinely conduct raids to catch people violating Islamic laws but most perpetrators are usually let off with fines.

Kartika has said previously she is ready to be caned.

The caning would be done with a thin stick on the back and would be largely symbolic rather than aimed at causing pain, unlike the caning of rapists and drug smugglers with a thick rattan stick on bare buttocks that causes the skin to break and leave scars.

But activists say even a gentle caning raises the broader question of whether such Islamic laws should intrude into Muslims’ private lives and whether radical Islam is creeping into the judiciary.

Malaysia follows a dual-track justice system. Shariah laws apply to Muslims in all personal matters. Non-Muslims – Chinese, Indians, Sikhs and other minorities – are covered by civil laws, and are free to drink.

Only three states in Malaysia – Pahang, Perlis and Kelantan – impose caning for drinking alcohol. In the other 10 states it is punishable by a fine.

I grew up in a poor family, but I didn’t realize that I was poor until I started middle school.  Kids were wearing name brand clothing and of course I didn’t.  I wanted to fit in with the other kids.  I was always a good student, but there are those teachers who treated you differently because of your "class".  I always amazed how certain kids were nominated for academic achievement awards when they didn’t put forth the effort.  Those kids parents’ were city council members, town dentists, land owners, etc.  

I remember when my mother purchased a new car.  Our neighbors came to visit and asked whose car was in the driveway.  I told them that the car was my mother’s.  They told me that I was lying.  I mainly wore hand me down clothing.  My sister bought me a lot of new things, but every now and then my mother bought me something new.  I remember that she bought a new pair of sandals for me.  My neighbors swore up and down that my sister bought those for me because my mother couldn’t afford anything like that.

I also remember feeling ostracized by my own racial class because of how I looked and because I was a good student. 

This story was featured Friday night on 20/20.  The victims and the assailant were from my area.  The man featured in this story was convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon because he knowingly spread HIV to God knows how many women.  This is so scary especially for women looking for companionship.

Fox News even went so far as to buy a full page ad in the Washington Post saying that they were the only who covered the protests.  Talk about telling a falsehood!

Kanye West needs to learn not to let "your drinking" do your talking for you!  He is a jackass!!  I’m glad that Beyonce called Ms.Swift to the stage to finish her acceptance speech.  Now that’s a class act!

Patrick Swayze was a talented actor and a genuine person!  My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
