Diva Dish: Cher in Love at 62 and Lana Turner - They Don't Make 'Em Like That Anymore!

Please, feel free to comment on any video. I believe in the work that Dame Elizabeth Taylor has done for the past twenty five years so deeply that I have devoted my site to her and the millions of people that she helps on a daily basis.

Peggy if I appear severe do not judge me my dear. If someone can explain a personal tattoo that is not readily shown for public viewing then I give much more credence to this than the metal maze of alkaloid I see so often on a once pretty or handsome face now covered with ink and steel. I am a counselor and often ask clients the meaning behind these differences for my own sake. You see no fainting no comma’s my sweet child.

Barbra on Racism, Elton on Career and Liz's Tip on Plastic Surgery

Sir Elton John is, of course, one of my heroes’s in terms of musical accompliments and general overall life and may have been correct that between the years 1972 and 1976, his chart toppers did (in fact) shoot through the stratosphere, but upon the decline…he certainly didn’t fall very far. Sometimes stars go from superstar status to iconic idols and then back to mere superstars again and to me, this is indicative of Sir Elton’s career. He has never lost his superstar status and has moved gracefully into the realm of being a legend. This gentle generous glorious man is capable of performing magic. A fact that I shall never forget.

Is Liz Smith Happy With Her Career Choice?

When I ordered your autobiography, “Natural Blond”, I mistakenly ordered it ‘a book on tape’ which eliminated reading it on the subway. I actually listened to it at home, during the Christmas holidays… either decorating my home or the tree but, in a way, I heard this instantly recognizable marvelous voice that I now associate with the holiday season. You read your own autobiography which, in itself, added depth to the contents. I found a very down to Earth, kind, compassionate lady who immersed herself in a field that is said to be very cutthroat, yet, retained simple honesty and integrity in working on a day to day basis. You knew how the game was played but you didn’t necessarily play it that way. You recognized good from evil and that was your saving grace. You knew how fragile (and still do) the human ego is and do not criticize unless you feel that the subject matter can handle it. I believed that you’ve made your own particular set of rules and stayed true to them. Reading your work is like a breath of fresh air. The reader expects humor, yet, truth and you always deliver. You never fall short. You never sell out. This is no small task but it has sustained you decade after decade. You are trusted because you trust yourself. You are admired because you admire yourself/ your values. You are compassionate as you show compassion to yourself. You are kind to yourself. I say you’ve done more than gone down the spiritual road. You have created a workable one.

Liz Smith on Tattoos, Thongs and Business Attire

For several years, I worked in a hospital setting where these inappropriate fashion statements were not allowed and everyone had to adhere to this rule….waist down. The dreadlocks, nose rings, facial tattoos, tongue piercings….etc…. were allowed. I guess this speak to ‘freedom of expression’. I ,not so much, think that this ‘freedom’ is the culprit but (more so) these displays are nothing more than insecure people who want to get noticed and are going to any and every length to do so. I know that everything is not, indeed, psychological but if you dig deeper (which is want I am allowed to do now) there will be a rhyme or reason

Dear Blue Circle Girl, I know that there isn’t anybody who is a nobody, and I love Andy Warhol, as well. I use to read his diary one day at a time, and one of his days, to experience the true flavor of reading a diary. It took me years. I suggest that you find it on eBay and purchase it. If you like him, this is the ‘real’ Andy Warhol. Living in New York City as she did, I am sure that Liz Smith knew him quite well. I love both Andy Warhol and Lana Turner. My posts are true and radiate from the heart.

Liz Smith Loves Apples, Oranges ... and Kennedy

It looks like a great book. Interesting times and power, thanks for your short review.

Diva Dish: Cher in Love at 62 and Lana Turner - They Don't Make 'Em Like That Anymore!

I remember one story in the Andy Warhol diaries. He was suppose to do something, or be somewhere with Lana Turner. When he did run into her, she was with her hairdresser and Lana became very angry at Andy and told him that he didn’t love her. The hairdresser agreed with Lana (of course) and Andy was pleading with her stating his undying love. Then the three started to argue more. Andy Warhol suddenlt thought, “Here the three of us arguing and we all have the same color and style of hair (the platinum mop). I thought it was funny. I love you, Liz Smith and everything you say and stand for. Just never, ever stop.

Political Gossip I've Never Published

I am thrilled to be reading Liz Smith (as well as other fine women) on this new spectacular site. Wonderful article, Ms. Smith. I hope to speak for a lot of men when I say that your words do resonate with the sign of the times. They reflect the realistic view on the world that you possess. Please continue on, and on, on…there is never enough! Richard Bassett
