Although not a tangible “thing”, I cannot live without dreams, hopes and goals. I do live in the moment and enjoy the now, however this is on my foundation of hopes, dreams and goals. I just had my 66 birthday and realize that my future does not stretch out seemingly forever, as we imagine as a young person . So rather than “someday” dreams I need to form a time frame. I do long to return to Paris for a self directed tour of cheese shops and museums. This, as other dreams, hopes and plans, is rather dependent on other situations. The euro and airfare need to come down…wish me luck.

right now, I would rather be in the ceramics studio pushing around some clay. An idea is burning a hole in my brain. However, I must do errands and take my Aby cat to the vet. She has allergies and is very itchy. Tomorrow I can be creative….story of my life.

It has to be Tina Turner since she can dance in high heel shoes! I can’t carry a tune in a bucket, plus I have bad feet and haven’t worn heels in years. Tina has great legs. I have always admired her.

After my daughter was 3, I raised her as a single parent. It ain’t easy and these high school girls have no idea what they are doing to their lives. In a word, they are stupid!

Back in my college days I wore a pair of Navy issued bell bottomed jeans with patches (I added) of various fabric and embroidery. With the jeans I wore a braided mesh yellow metal belt which had a 3-d flower clasp. Both are much-much too small and I keep them for sentimantal reasons. Long ago I dismantled my love-beads…remember those?

what I liked least about the gym were all those people frantically exercising!!! I did enjoy their pool…sort of. The water felt good, but chlorine left me itchy and ate the color off my hair. Also, get dressed to go to the pool, put on suit, take a shower, put on clothes…too much dressing and undressing.

Back in my young years I was beautiful and did not know I was smart. Being beautiful and very young looking, I was not taken seriously and there was usually a man nearby ready to give me attentions of a sort I did not want or seek. No body told me I was smart and it took years of education and introspection to find my intelligence. My intellignece did provide survival tools through some rough times, even though I thought I was dumb. Now I am 66, not beautiful and fat. I would much rather have been born plain and been encouraged to use my intelligence.

Since our income is now about 1/2 what is was pre-layoff, we are forced to eat less organic food. Formally we made a weekly trip to “Whole Paycheck” for meat, fish and vegetables. I do miss the better taste of organic produce. My birthday is in a few days and the one thing I asked for is a whole Foods Filet Mignon!

After wearing hundreds of pairs of panty hose for work, I have vowed to NEVER wear another pair. They never fit well and would bind in one place and bag in another. They were hot and developed a run usually during the first wearing. Over the years I spent a lot of money on panty hose and would like to have every cent refunded to pay for a trip to Paris…barelegged!

The only food that ever scared me was my Mother’s cooking. She was an awful cook and could turn anything into an inedible mess. She liked to make gravies and left too cool they always cracked! Cracked gravy! In self defense, I learned to cook very young.

I agree with everyone who thinks she whould “lighten up”, because she looks a little “Barbie-ish”. She is lovely, however TOO well groomed and looks phony. Is this a real woman or a Stepford wife? I am highly jealous of her long neck that all her money did not buy.

I am retired now, however my last boss was a sociopathic monster. She was an overbearing liar, a micro-managing control freak, and became a different person when her boss, who worked in another state, was in town. The minute he walked out the door she reverted to her “real” self. She made a job I loved miserable and I dreaded going to work every day. I began working at age 15, and this last job was the worst of my working life. While her boss was out of the country, she concocted bizarre lies about me and then fired me. I saw a counselor, because I had never been so attacked in my life. She later was fired and I hope she is still unemployed and living in a cardboard box under an overpass.

This weekend I want to lie around on lounge chairs, under large shade trees and get to know Julia Child who is sitting beside me. We are sharing ideas about travel, food, and enjoyment of life. Dream on.

The job/work I enjoyed most in my life was associated with a non-profit art gallery in California. At one point I was “Exhibibition Chair” which involved working with a commitee to select upcoming art shows from submitted artist’s slides. My favorite project was inviting a well known woman artist to exhibit and coordinating with a museum to use their space and mailing list for a presentation and discussion of her work. The artist was a friend of a friend and this contact led to association with her. I was deeply involved with the gallery showings, right down to mopping the floor before receptions. Pay? not a penny. My payment was in personal satisfaction.

good cosmetic surgery is questionable…what is good? does it mean like Cher, you only faintly resemble your old self? Or..Dolly P. who keeps working on looking the same?
