What are the three dumbest things you spend money on?

On a trip to Paris I bought bright yellow athletic shoes that hurt my feet. the wonderful color could not overcome the discomfort! Sexy thong panties with lace that scratched. After one short wearing and they “fulfilled their purpose” I tossed them in the trash! Stick on nails.

What is the biggest lie you have ever believed?

The biggest lie I have ever heard is that being thin will make your life wonderful. when I was thin (from an overactive thyroid) I had a lousy marriage to a jerk. Now I am quite fat and happily married to a caring male to female transexual, who is the kindest person I have ever met.

Have you noticed rising prices? What is costing you more this month?

I have always been a tight-wad, and proud of it, so bargain hunting comes natural to me. With rising prices it is getting harder to find what I consider “deals”. When Trader Joe’s opened a store in Cary I was in love again after shopping at TJ in California. Recently, their prices have increased on some items by about 10-15 %. In all stores, eggs, bread, flour and other basics have increased, however not as much as fruit and vegs!! My yard is too shady for a garden, plus we have squirrels and rabbits that would love some blueberries, strawberries, etc. So, I am feeling rather financially trapped right now.

What are you doing for Easter?

Since I am not a Christian, I do not celebrate this holiday. Weekends are quiet times for us, and tomorrow will be the same. Maybe watch a Netflix film.

Have you ever been fired?

A couple of times and laid off several times. The last was done by a woman who had been promoted far beyond her education and experience. My first day on the job, before her promotion, she became angry because it was necessary for us to share an office space. After her promotion she tried to reprimand me for something I did not do and ended up being told by her boss to apologize to me. The stage was now set. Her boss later left the country on vacation and she concocted a set of absolute lies saying I threatened/attacked her. Of course there were no witnesses. She spoke with the company atttorney, in another state, who advised her to immediately dismiss me. I was denied unemployment, appealed and won. She also found a way to fire the top producing salesman, who had been with the company for over 5 years. She was later fired herself. The entire situation was so abusive I saw a counselor for a year. Don’t ever work for a Sociopathic liar.

Where are you putting your money? Stocks? Bonds? Real estate? Under the mattress?

About 3 years ago my partner/spouse Diane was laid off from Nortel after 13 years. Then bankrupcy followed. Our savings stay in a credit union account to carry us between jobs through agencies. I save quarters in a large glass piggy bank in hopes of returning to Paris for a cheese tour. I don’t care for cheese and need re-education!

Which four women would you like to see on Mt. Rushmore?

Edith Wharton, Julia Child, Rosa Parks, Jacqueline Kennedy is a group I would like to have lunch at my house and to celebrate being choosen for Mt Rushmore.

What wakes you at 4 a.m.?

I usually wake up from my own snoring and to pee. Then I begin to worry about money, job stability, my daughter…you name it.
