This was the clearest and most cogent argument yet. You are absolutely right. And that is why, as you say, that children need protection. They are children! I  remember all too well thinking I knew everything there was to know…I grew up in NYC, very sophisticated environment but I knew nothing and I’m eternally grateful that nothing serious happened to me. I wish others would just get this picture that you so clearly painted. Thank you.

I agree with everyone who’s posted so far but I must add the truly magnificent and elegant Fanny Ardant. I had occasion to meet Ava Gardner many years ago and without makeup, in a simple tweed skirt and cashmere sweater she was extraordinary. I believe Elizabeth Taylor called her the most beautiful woman in the world.  But Fanny, at 60, tops everyone. 

What are the biggest changes, positive or negative, your body has been through in the last ten years?

To have Liz and Candace admit to the changes their bodies have naturally undergone is so uplifting. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your sharing this. We see only the perfections of beautiful women and think we ought to be exactly that and are depressed when we’re not. I’m trying at 73 to finally accept my body as it is, but am always wistful and wishing for better. What a great gift you’ve given us. Think I’ll just have a muffin with my coffee today!

We focus so much on age when the most beautiful women are well over 50 in Europe especially. I agree about Helen Mirren, but why have you left off the fantastic Fanny Ardant who at 59 is probably one of the most elegant and sexy women anywhere, and Catherine Deneuve. Oh my! Now these are the women we should be cherishing. Cher is a great actress but I wish she would be the natural woman she has played in film instead of the manufactured person she has become.

Should prostitution be legal? Why? Why not?

If it takes laws to protect women, yes, prostitution must be made legal. That’s the only option to stop the abuse of women in a system that treats them as booty. Legalization would force them to have appropriate testing and health care. I don’t agree with the concept of prostitution but it exists and we can’t close our eyes to it. Laws should be to protect women, not the men who use their services.
