What would that have accomplished other than an even bigger racial backlash? To bigots all that matters is the color of his skin and he certainly didn’t need them to start disparaging him for the audacity of "trying to pass".

That statement is so outrageously absurd that I’d believe the poster was joking if it was anybody besides you. 

Of course they don’t call what they encourage by the label of "racism" but it’s obviously the underlying message in most of the hate they’re spewing. But then the people who don’t see that are just the type of audience that Fox plays to so it doesn’t surprise me that they don’t realize they’re being led around by their bigotry. 

Loved Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing and Ghost. I was so sorry to hear of his illness and now his death.

As for Kanye, I think he was just trying to make sure he got his name and face out there one way or another. He certainly can’t seem to do it with his supposed "musical talent", which never did impress me at all.

It would appear that it means "Legally Here".  As in:

Thank you Elle, but that second sentence should read: Polls are taken in specific areas of the country with questions stated in such a manner as to be able get answers that can be presented with a specific slant.

I got in too big a hurry and didn’t have time to preview. I guess I got the point across though.

How frightening is it that no matter how trashy Sarah Palin is proven to be there are still some who think she should be president? Think about what that says about the caliber of her supporters.

As for all the whining because the Palin bashing never ends; as long as she is keeping nonsense like "death panels" stirred up on her Facebook page she is fair game. If she wants people to stay out of her life she needs to stay absent and silent.

No, actually they’re not. Polls taken is specific areas of the country with questions stated in such a manner as to be able get answers that they can present with a specific slant.

Yes, many people are concerned. However, many of them are concerned because the President is trying too hard to appease "the right" instead of doing what he and his supporters know is right.

Yes Diana, and this is the base that the Republican talking heads like Beck, Hannity, Limbaugh, etc. are playing to; those who are too ignorant to realize that their very ignorance is being exploited for the benefit the wealthy upper echelons of the party. The corporate barons know they aren’t numerous enough to vote their "hand picked and paid for" candidates in so they cater to the ignorance of the NRA/Christian/Racist right.

This is the most frightening of political times that I can remember. Even more so than the  Bay of Pigs, the assasination of President Kennedy and 9/11 because people of the low moral caliber of Beck and Limbaugh are in control of one of our two major political parties and manipulating the most dangerous of the constituents of that party. They are in fact inciting homegrown terrorism and I can’t believe they don’t know exactly what they’re doing.  

It’s not just Texas Liz. It’s most of the Southeastern United States.

The states with the highest percentages of people on public assistance because there are no jobs left after the Republicans paid the corportations to take them to Mexico and Asia.

The states with the worst public schools systems.

The states with the worst infrastructure and transportation systems.

 These are most of the states that think all the government should do for us is make sure we can all have a gun. They think patriotism is about going to war not about paying taxes so that the lives of the people of this country can be improved with better healthcare, education and environment. They don’t care if 100 people live in abject poverty so that one corporate baron can spend more on one weekend than those 100 people have to live on for a year. 

There’s a saying that Jeff Foxworthy has about when a southerner opens there mouth and speaks the estimate of his IQ goes down by 20 points.

Let me tell you from living 39 of my 59 years down here. It ain’t just the accent.

They’ve been rousing the rabble ever since they saw the loonies come out in force to yell racial slurs, obsenities and death treats at the Palin rallies during the campaign.   They know exactly who to appeal to. They have to have the vote of people too ignorant to look beyond racism, the NRA and right-wing religious dogma and see that the Republicans don’t give a damn about them.   

I so happy for these young women and their families. I’m also gratified that it was President Clinton who was standing in that room when they walked it. I can’t think of a more comforting sight that they could have had unless was President Obama himself. Of course the current president couldn’t go because he wanted to keep it as non-political as possible and there couldn’t have been a better person than Bill Clinton to do this.

I think the North Korean dictator asked specifically for President Clinton because he wanted the photo op and because President Clinton is the quintessential anti-Bush and North Korea could use him to shove it in the face of the former American dictators who made us disgusting to the rest of the world.

We could have affordable health care in this country if "Health Care" really meant caring for people’s health rather than making millions for corporate execs.

Health care should be a basic human right for the citizens of this county; not a privilege and certainly not a commodity.

But then, the "powers that be" in this country (the corporate wealthy) don’t give a damn about basic human rights. To them it’s all about the "wealth".They can afford any health care they want so why should they worry about all the millions of people they put out jobs and health care benefits in order to build their "wealth"?

The corporatized "health business" we have now is just another slip further down the slide into a fascio-feudalistic society in this country.The "American dream" of a good, comfortable living for all Americans has become a "survival of the richest nightmare".
