I agree with Sally 100% on making the most of yourself, to be constantly changeing and re-inventing ourselfs as we age, or at any age. I went back to school well into my 30’s to get my nursing degree to help support my sons and myself when I suddenly found myself a single parent. There is a quote which has become my mantra, and one that I share with my boys when they find themselves confronted by lifes challenges. ‘Our greatest glory comes not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall’. Thank you Sally, you are an amazing lady!

The whole Kennedy legacy seems to be one of tragedy, & the burden of being John-John was most likely a heavy one for him to bear. The picture of him that remains in my mind & in my heart is not one of the dashing handsome Prince of the Kennedy camelot, but one of a sweet precious toddler in short pants saluting his Daddys casket as it went by.

May they all rest in the arms of the angels.

Candice Bergen on the Growth and Joy of Children

I had to wait a long time before I received my membership to Motherhood, after 3 miscarriages & being told that I would probably never be able to carry a baby to term Spirit finally blessed me with two beautiful boys..they are now 11 & 13 and are the joys of my life, even though we do have our ‘moments’. After my husband & I divorced they became absolutely devoted to and protective of "their Mom", and the bond between we three is a strong one. My eldest son was so proud of me when I decided to study to become a Nurse so that I could give us a better life financially, and although the going has been rough at times I wouldn’t trade one squishy sloppy I love you Mom kiss for anything in the world!. Every squeeze, every smooch, every laugh tells me that they are grateful for me & reminds me how very blessed I am. Even though I am going to dread being an empty nester when the time comes, if I do my job well then they will find the wings to soar.

Is your best friend a man or a woman?

I have a friend that I met in grade 4, we clicked instantly and have remained best friends for over 40 years. She has been beside me through all of lifes up and downs. The death of my kid brother at the age of 24, my marriage, the birth of my children to whom she is Godmother & ‘Aunty’. I was there for her when her Dad passed, when her husband passed, through good times & bad through thick and thin we have remained the best of friends. And although we don’t get to spend as much time together as we would like, we know in our hearts that your best friend is never further away then needing her can reach.

The only thing Janice Dickinson could model are the after effects of her latest nip and tuck, she belongs in a medical journal not on the pages of a magazine, and isn’t it time that we as people taught our daughters to take pride in themselves as people for what they can accomplish & offer to the world. Not pound into them that they should strive to resemble the latest barbie doll or weigh slightly less then a death camp survivor. Intelligence, compassion, dignity, humor, wit, honor, & pride are the things we should cherish as ‘super’ in our young generation of women. Not that can fit into a size 0 , that they are super just as they are.
