S J, Since when does "strict" mean "punishing your child too harshly"? To be strict with a 12 month old means rewarding good behavior with hugs, etc. and treating unwanted behavior with frowns and lack of positive response and an explanation of why the behavior is not acceptable. Ignoring bad behavior is devastating to the child because they want boundaries and need to know how to deal with society so they can feel good about themselves.

Chris, The tea also soothes sun burn. And I love to put cucumber slices on my eyes (close eyes before applying!).

I also swear by the Zicam spray. I’ve used it for years. It WORKS if used at the very beginning of a cold. How many  people have used it and is it proven that the swabs and gel caused the loss of smell in 130 (out of how many users?) The Neti Pot really helps my allergies, but does not stop a cold from progressing in my case.  I’ll stock up, although I seldom get a cold. Hope this situation is investigated and scientific facts are found and then we will really know what the truth about this product. In the mean time, it sounds like a witch hunt to me. And my sense of smell is great - sometimes too sensitive!

Joan, My "late" husband died of pancreatic cancer. What a beast it is, as are the other cancers. Some people have a deep fear of it being contageous, some are just afraid of speaking of death. When a friend or relative is stricken, we need to get over this and understand that death is just another stage of life and our continuing relationship with that perrson must expand and "get real".  Thanks for your story.

Chips, When I was a small child, my parents had a W.Homer depicting somewhere in the Bahamas. Once, at one  of their parties, I pointed it out to an adult and received such praise for my artistic knowledge that I have loved and studied his paintings ever since. But the Bahama paintings remain my favorites.
