Jeannot, Don’t tell anyone, but I got hooked on "Housewives of Orange County". My addiction then grew to include Atlanta and N.Y., and now New Jersey. The amazing thing to me is that these women are supposed to be real people. With all those implants, it is amazing they can stand up straight - let alone think and walk at the same time. Maybe they don’t! I’m currently looking for a 12 Step program to cure my addition!!!

One more suggestion - I am not a medical professional - but I feel this is important. In July of 2002, my late husband was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. He had no reason for this - no relatives with diabetes, not overweight, very active and a healthy lifestyle. A year later, almost to the day, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The pancreas produces insulin and is an important part of diabetes. If this diagnosis comes to you - or anyone you know - talk to your doc about a scan of the pancreas. His primary care doc laments to this day she did not think of this. So many Americans are being diagnosed with type2 that it is almost a epidemic. But in researching many internet sites, I’ve found that PC so often is proceeded by a type2 diagnosis. Just a "heads up".

OK, I have caved into watching "John & Kate…" I’m about 20 minutes into the show and my head is aching. As soon as the program is over I’m going to search the kitchen to see if we have any alcohol. Seriously, how does this couple survive and how can their marriage survive? Even if they are making $$, it has to be stressful to the extreme. I hope they make a lot!!! Now, where is that cooking wine!?!

Nancy, This may be helpful to some women on this site. My gyn says that if a woman has gone thru true menopause (at least one year without periods) and begins to bleed, AUTOMATICALLY ASSUME IT IS CANCER and take action! I was lucky and will be tested every 6 months if everything continues normally.

Just 2 months ago I had a scare with uterine cancer, but tests came up negative. Thank you God and my vigilant gyn! 5 years ago I lost my husband to pancreative cancer, my brother- in - law to esophogeal cancer and my god mother to melanoma, my mother -in- law to liver cancer and father in law to lung cancer. Terrible year is an under statement. Lesson? Live healthy and have regular check ups and if you have any negative inklings - follow up and insist on being taken seriously by your doctors. If the medical people think you are a complainer, it’s THEIR problem.

Several years ago, my neice was pregnant with her first child. A month before the delivery, she and my nephew found out the baby boy had no brain and would die within a few hours after birth. They had the choice to have a late term abortion or proceed and go through with the birth. Either way, the child would be baptized and given a proper burial. My neice CHOSE to give birth It was an agonizing wait and a very sad and difficult delivery. But she had the CHOICE. That is the crux of this debate. I am pro=life and pro-choice. I refuse to sit in judgment on other women. They have a CHOICE. I have a CHOICE. And you men out there, you have the choice to decide to impregnant a woman or not. And if you gentlemen want to carry a child in your uterus, got for it!

How do you greet your closest friends?

L.Roly, "Hugging is a very female thing"? Get over your sexual crap. Women hug, men hug, women and men hug each other, adults and children hug. If it is real it is wonderful. If it is false, that’s wrong. If 2 people shake hands and don’t mean it, then it’s sad. If 2 people hug and don’t mean it, that is sad. A real hug is so good! Seeing hugging as only a a thing a woman does with another woman or something you accept as a sexual advance from a woman, then you are really hurting. Try a hug, maybe a pillow first, and then your dog. Might grow in your soul!?!

How do you greet your closest friends?

Hugs and kisses. My closest friends make my world shine! Since we are scattered - geographically - we are planning a "girls week" here at thie lake this summer. Lots to do - food, wine, Ann Arbor Art show, pontooning at sunset, chick flicks, photo albums, talk about politics, goals, and grand children! I can’t wait!!!
