Norma,  You wrote "Keep up the great work…" How many more illigitimate children quailfies her for "great work"? Would 4,5,6+ more illigitimate babies make her family proud? Just wondered !?! And in the mean time, maybe working toward a career which doesn’t glorify teen pregnancy on the cover of a magazine, might be an idea!

Laureen, This poor child is the product of "abstinence" sex education. I don’t want more young women poisoned and put in her situation by "I’m slapping myself on my back because I’m so holy and self rightious" parents. PRotect your children by giving them the facts, your hopes and dreams for them  and an open road of communication with you, the parents, so they can ask for help and guidance  when they need it. And don’t glorify teen illigitimate pregnancy by putting Miss Palin, or any other CELEBRITY ( if you are on a mag cover, then that is what you are).

C Hardy, I totally agree with you. This is not about politics, it is about reality. More parents need to be like yours, hopeful, encouraging, but realistic. I hope Miss Palin has a productive and good life and I hope she gets an education to help her support her child. Speeches about abstinence may help a few out there, but working toward getting educated and becoming a contributing member of society is equally, if not as flashy, important.

Deborah, I agree that this is not a political issue. It is an issue of having good, common sense and loving our kids enough to arm them with the information they need to protect themselves And if Miss Palin wants to be left alone, why is she posing with the baby on the cover of a national magazine?

Sandy - I agree, except for the word you used,"almost". She is obviously being glorified.  A word to parents everywhere -if you teach abstinence only and don’t arm your daughter with the facts, maybe she can get a deal for a magazine cover.Wow!!! How Cool!!!!

Miss Palin is a poster child for the failure of abstinence education. It is plain and simple! That is what she was taught and it didn’t work. Don’t mislead our children with our own "moral" values and put their lives at risk. Deal with reality and make sure they are armed with the facts, not the fairy tales!

Jerry, I stand by my comments. WOWOWOW will be a better place if people get their priorities in order and go on to imiportant issues. And nasty snipes at members of this site do not accomplish anything positive.

What’s inevitable? Death and taxes and septic system back-ups. So own a crematory, work for the IRS or run a "honey bucket" service. Doesn’t sound like fun!!!

When I graduated from Miami University in Dec,, 1968, the speaker was the vice president from the University of Pittsburg. Can’t remember a thing he said but remember wondering why he was chosen. My next graduation was the 300th graduation from The Ohio State University. It was held in the stadium and it rained buckets. Lot’s of fun, but I have no memory of who spoke . If I had a choice today, President Obama comes to mind first. What a gift Notre Dame U. received and how foolish  the protestors  made themselves look.  Education is wasted on closed minds!

After surveying the task I decide if it appears likly that I would have the abilty to fix it. (I’m pretty handy having been a single homeowner many years). If its a go, I gather up all the necessary tools, materials, permits, etc. Next I begin to look busy - My husband MUST be home for this to work. HE will saunter by, make a suggestion or, even better, make a criticism. I then "suggest" he show me the RIGHT way to do it and then sneak off when he gets into it. Works everytime!!!

I saw a wonderful segment on "Oprah" about a "retirement farm" for female elephants. They each choose a best friend for the rest of their life, usually another female elephant, but one chose a dog. It seems that these animals have a great capacity and need for this connection. What wonderful animals! 

Lets not forget John McCain’s adulterous relationship with Miss Cincy Hensley. Unless it was love at first site right after his divorce, there must have been some hanky panky leading to their marriage scarcely a month after his divorce was final. Oops!

All of this is SO UNIMPORTANT!!!! Who cares? And if they do, please do try to find something more meaningful in life.
