Great idea!! Our animal shelters are full and they need our help.

Gloria speaks from my heart and from my brain. I feel that I received a gift from her efforts over the years and that is a gift which grows daily in my daughters and son lives.

Ms. Streep is the epitome of an actress. Her performances envigorate our brains, touch our hearts and delight us. And she has  a stable life, loves her husband and family, and doesn’t cheapen  herself with stupid and pointless behavior. She is a good, solid woman who happens to be a genious! What a gift to us!

The people of Iraq were responsible for their own fate and treatment by Saddam. He was an evil man, no doubt, and it was their responsibility to get rid of him, not ours! THere were NO weapons of mass destruction. It was a lie pandered by the Bush White House. LIES! If Georgie had had the sense God gave a goat he would have dealt with reality and sent all our troops to Afghanistan where the Taliban actually threatens US. And if there are "camps and groups" in the USA, we must eradicate them and quit losing young lives in "Dallas does Iraq"!

Kelly, If the United States hadn’t been tied up with "Dallas does Iraq" we could have been dealing with the truly "Evil Doers".

Janet, Me too! Isn’t it nice to be  reminded of a book you read long ago and still have - or can get it at the library - and get to read it again. Just recently I saw a quote, by whom I can’t remember, that said basically "Don’t judge a person by the books she reads, judge by the books she re-reads".  

I certainly wish her the best. SHe is obviously an intelligent and balanced woman and she has the opportunity to do something new and fun. And it must be wonderful to no longer be surrounded by the slime of the Bush administration. You go girl!!

I’m doing it all - NOTHING, traveling, volunteering, setting up  my studio and searching for meaning in this new place, called retirement. Got a new husband and a new dog. Training the dog is easier! It still feels funny not having a structure so I’m going back and forth between writing goals for every day, and saying "the heck with it". Bu t every day starts with prayer and meditation and gratitude.  And the question of the day is always "What can I do to make a difference in someone’s world.

Lady Gator, Just a few questions - Why is Rush angry all the time? Why does he spend an inordinate amount of time spewing hatred? And why would I listen to his moronic sputterings? When I can’t avoid it, I listen and then say a prayer to God that I never end up in such an evil  place as  his world. AND he makes 34 million $ a year - lots of fools out there paying for his dole!!!!

Suzanne, God bless you. That’s not a platitude at all. I am in awe of your courage and fortitude. You are an inspiration. Thank you for your story.

Deborah - Grump, Grump, Grump. Go outside and pet a dog and smile!!!!!! I know that things are horribly tough right now, both in America and throughout the world. That’s why we all have to work together and be positive and find our own roles in improving life as we know it. Sniping and complaining is a waste of time.

Thor, "Police do not protect you from crime…". I have the greatest respect for our police. Theirs is a dangerous profession, requiring courage and skills most of us don’t possess. Please don’t insult these brave people!

Andrea, Did you find an appropriate dog from a shelter for the girls? I spent Saturday at our local shelter, washing out the cages, and I didn’t  see a single non-allergenic dog there. Is this family not allowed to decide what is best for them? I think we should all butt out and allow the Obamas to make their own decision  about choosing a dog.  And please, all of us, make a $ contribution to your local shelter!
