Safe from WHAT! Our country is in a total mess. Ann Coulter should just ………… Opportunist of the worst kind. No one but no one will remember her when she is, well gone. She adds nothing and is nothing. Here’s the wannabe Pres ticket of the future Sarah Palin President and Ann Coulter Vice President. Yeah.

My heart goes out to Cheryl’s family and friends. I remember her pretty face. I loved watching this show as a kid. And watching the video clip posted brought geniune tears to my eyes. My how things have changed for children today.

The message to me from this post by “Liz” and some of the followup posts is that this is about “CHANGE”. Many of us who wanted it voted for it. Now that we have it we long for the familiar Liz. Rearrange your thinking and shake things up. Give the President Elect the benefit of doing exactly what he said he would do. He’ll make mistakes sure, but hopefully not to many and he’ll learn. But my sincere, fervent hope is that he will rattle the fish bowl or whatever and make a difference. How about some positive thinking in 2009, we could use it, I could— and I believe the American People and the Peoples of the World could too.

I find this thread or post whatever to be meaningless. I don’t care (but I guess you do) that celebritey moms and their celeb offspring are noteworthy cause they do what their parents did? I’m not getting it here.

AC is one of the most notorious political opportunists. Note her supposedly articulate commentary while she attires herself in skimpy clothing. What the hecks is that all about. Why does anyone take her seriously? is a mystery to me. Talk about milk the American public. People get real. This whole liberal, conservative yak yak is phony and really distracts the country from addressing real problems TogEther.

Note to all WowOWers. The Palin event is here to stay I think whatever she chooses to do, in particular in public life, However, perhaps we can just not take the WoW bait when offered to comment on things “S.Palin” whether personal/political to her or her family which is no ones business. Ummm Unless the Palin family puts their family out their in the public domaine with stories and updates. I hope the state of Alaska is sucessful like I hope all states all successful in serving the peoples of the state. I live in DC and we are not a state but are treated as if we are, in addition to the huge, unwarranted and disfunctional interference from the States of the USA and their representatives. So I say enough SP leave her and her family alone. If she runs for Pres in the future then all is on the table and up for discussion. (I am not a SP fan -note please.. So many other things to discuss and debate. Can we please move on?

I try to keep my life tidy. It helps to keep me centered and focus on the important aspects of my life. That includes such mudane things as cleaning the oven the next time I bake (and I’m doing it today), putting away holiday stuff, including gifts) to dive into 2009, reorg my cookbooks to post Xmas, and restarting carry over projects from 2008. For example, I’m reading books on canning and preserving as well as wireworking. I love crafts. This kinda stuff is for me and keeps me sane.

Happy New Year Ladies and Gents. I actually love reading all of your posts, those I agree with and those that I may not. For me the great thing is that I hear different perspectives that help me shape some of my own gray issue areas. The WoW staff got us going on this one. They know what they do!

The election of President Elect Obama. Words fail me quite frankly. The significance to my life and many of those I have known over the years is unmeasurable. For many his election success is a joke, a point-counter point, or relentless, talking human or media head effort to promote one’s own or corporate agenda, etc., I could go on and on and on. But for me a poor gal from the north/south his new election is Pure poetry and something I marched and yearned for years. Get real you all. For me it aint “right” or “left” or “backwards” or “forwards” it’s MLK’s Dream realized. As January 2009 gets here, just think what MLK would be thinking on 1/20/2009. We can get down, way down in the weeds and brush about our own experiences and personal politics but this is something Ladies and Gents. I will enjoy the moments. Because I do not believe that it will happen again in my life time, which saddens me very much.

Irish Eyes I hear you. Woody was never a matinee idol for me. I have several brothers. Over the years I have continually questioned why they married or dated the women they did given the heart ache both have suffered (of course my personal concern mostly my brother’s confusion, pain and angst)—afterall they are my brothers 2 younger and one older. But the unescapable response from them has always been “I love(d)” her. So what can you do but be there for your family and brother’s . Of course sisters too……… That’s what’s its all about living, loving, hurting, enjoying, surviving, etc.

I’ve always had a soft place in my heart for Mia Farrow. I dont know why exactly but I’ve kinda aged with her and her life’s experiences. Who can forget “Rosemary’s Baby” the movie one of the first horror films that scared the begeebers out of me. I am very sorry for her loss and wish her and her family God’s blessing and Peace and Blessedness no matter ones religion or beliefs. I recommend books to others that I’ve enjoyed all the time but I’ve never checked to see if the facts are “true”. Guess I better stop.

I congratulate the new mom. All single moms in her circumstances should receive $300 thousand for baby pics. What a great start for so many young mothers. And what a way to exploit your newborn. Bristol should give the money to charity.
