Wendy…I agree.  What happen to civility these days?  Why do people have to be so disrespectful?

I don’t think they realize they are being that way since that is the behavior they are mimicking from what they see on TV.   

I just wonder if these news cable people go home at night and say ….boy, do I have power, I got so many people to march on Washington today protesting Obama.  I got so many people to stand up and scream at a town meeting.   What power I have!   

It’s all about power.   Nothing else.  Conscience doesn’t enter into their consciousness.  It’s about ratings and money.  What a sad commentary on the American way of life. 

President Obama knows the "lay of the land" with the news cable channels and he framed it the only way he could regarding his race.  If he had run for President as a white man instead of a black man…..oh boy, I can hear the cable news channels, now!  They would have been all over him about "putting on airs" …and stepping "out of line"……."who does he think he is?"

But then I think they are doing that now…..so maybe it would not have made any difference. 

I don’t have cable.  I have no interest in supporting institutions like the news channels.  

I have "rabbit ears."  I get the local weather, news and some interesting programs on PBS.

Deber B -  Thank you!   You just pointed out the fascinating technique that the negative news operations use.   They make the news sound like "everyone is doing it"…..and give permission to their viewers to adopt the same negative emotions.  Is this really news reporting or cheerleading with intent?

"However, back to FOX News, they deliver the  breaking news as it breaks. "   - After the last incident a week ago, when FOX reported that Washington DC was being attacked, when the event was actually a police exercise, their reporting is a little suspect.  I remember reading in the Longmont Times/Call newspaper that the police/security in Washington DC was planning a "counter-invasion" exercise on the Potomac.   Now, I live in Longmont, COLORADO.  How was I able to read this new reports and FOX NEWS missed it??????

Deber B -    "black president",  " white president".   "Just not Obama because he is black.   I don’t think this country will  see another black President in the White House for this reason alone."

 Deber - interesting labeling.  Do you label all your friends this way?  Do you divide your life this way?

PS.  Obama is 1/2 white - 1/2 black……..Recommended label:  "gray President"  (equal combination of blank & white.) 

You are lucky that your parents are taking responsibility for the next step in their lives.

Our parents waited a little too long.  My father was suffering from diminished eye-sight with macular degeneration.  My sister and I spent 3 months cleaning out their house where they had lived for 40 years.  (They survived the depression and never threw anything away.)  

It’s better to let the parents pack up their lives than having to do all of the work without them.  We had to park them in their independent living apartment at a retirement home, and disperse all their treasures. 

I can’t participate.

I have no interest in perpetuating killing other people, even when we are pretending.  I’ve had enough of justifying wars that justifying killing other human beings.
