And how do you know I am a democrat?  I don’t remember telling you my party affiliation.  Since you don’t agree with the information I am presenting, you seem to put me in a "box" that makes you feel comfortable, but is not accurate for who I am. 

Actually, I have talked to my insurance agent.  When I met with him last spring to review my insurance coverage we were able to increase the coverage on my auto, house and business insurance.  But when it came to my health insurance, since I had a heart attack two years ago, I was unable to increase my coverage.  

My comment to him was:   If you don’t cover the health of the person paying the insurance bills for the material goods, and if I die from lack of better health insurance coverage to cover my heart condition, then there will be no one around to pay for the insurance bills on the assets.

He had no answer for me.

How long have the insurance companies been in business?  

Why don’t they have this system already in place and why are we not enjoying good health care coverage for all our citizens with this system,  you suggest?   Why are the insurance companies not doing this NOW?  What happened to the conscience this our society?  Why are the insurance companies putting money before the well-being of all the citizens?

Did you read what you wrote?  

37th is 37th…….Best health care is the county that has the #1 rating.   

Our infant mortality rate is even lower on the list of leading world countries providing health care.

Deber B - Ok with the politics.  It’s like playing football.  

But what are we going to do to make sure everyone in this country has quality healthcare?

We’re 37th on the list of world powers in terms of healthcare.  Why aren’t we number 1?

I’m all for skipping the politics and the fears of getting reelected, a very testosterone thing to be concerned about, and get on with taking care of the people in this country.  How can we agree? 

Why weren’t we having this discussion when the previous administration sent refunds out to everyone.  My share of the tax rebate,  $125, didn’t go very far towards paying my health insurance coverage.    

Why weren’t we having this discussion as the previous administration was adding the cost of the two wars as amendments to bills before Congress instead of telling the American public the "numbers" …..adding to the deficit? 

Obama …….. managed to call the republicans "liars"…………he really doesn’t want imput from the republicans

Where you listening to the same speech I was listening to?  And, why not remind everyone what he inherited.  He inherited a huge budget deficit.   Facts are facts when it comes to numbers.  And we really didn’t know the real numbers until Obama took office.  Surprise, surprise!  The deficit wasn’t really talked about in truthful numbers until January 2009.

And, I really believe "his" plan won’t see the light of day this year and he can blame himself for that.   He is losing the support of his democrats because they don’t want their name on a bill knowing how the American people feel about it….they need the votes in 2010.   I expect many of them to bail on the bill.   

 My heart breaks, if your prediction comes true.   So many people will continue to suffer.

What happened to "civility"?

Our children watched the speech….and the Congressmen’s reactions and actions.

Is the next generation going to think that this type of  behavior is the correct way to act in public? 

Sorry Deber B.  I think you have simplified the last election process.  Too many voters weren’t even born in the 60’s….

I think Obama has done an interesting job of creating a "community of comment" with the entire country, so that we are able to air our feelings about health care in a sane and sensible way.  That is what community organizers do.  And he has done it with the entire country.  

If you remember the 60’s then, when has there been such a huge debate in this country about any other topic?  Not since integration was instituted and at that time, people were very scared.  Fearful.  So we are repeating the same behaviors and I am optimistic about the results of the process.  Everyone is being heard, having their say, and hopefully, Congress  (not the President) will make some good decisions regarding a sensible bill to improve the quality of health care in this country.

Maybe we will be able to raise our standing in the world for quality health care for our citizens above 37th! 

That would be an honorable goal.
