Dear Margo: When Dad/Gramps Just Ain't Interested
I have to agree with cutting out toxic people - whether they be related or not.
The girl with the tattoos - the only way she is going to be her own woman is to own up to doing something her mother doesn’t approve of and let the chips fall where they may. Life is full of choices that others might not approve of - it’s being your own person and living big regardless of other people’s opinions.
It seems a lot of us here on the forum have seen some very ugly tattoos. I have seen some that look as though someone scribbled a Sharpie pen all over them, and I agree - not attractive in the least. I myself at the tender age of 35 went into a professional tattoo place in the Seattle area and had a nice tribalized sun tattooed on my lower back. Not only is it beautiful, but it is a tribute to my Native American ancestry, and I’ve had many ladies say, "Well, I don’t like tattoos, but I like yours!"
Mr. wOw's Love Affair With George Clooney
Oh my - i’m so in the minority here. I guess I’m one of the few ladies on the planet that does not find George Clooney sexy, and the ONLY movie in which I ever enjoyed his presence was "Good Night, & Good Luck." Brad Pitt? No thanks.
I tend to slide towards men who are charismatic with a good twinkle in their eye. You might argue with me that George has that, but for some reason, I get a smarmy vibe off him that I don’t care for. Now, Trevor Eve in Heat of the Sun……..he was really in his prime at the time. I’ll definitely take Jimmy Stewart as well - now there’s a man who twinkled through everything he did, be it cowboy or follower of invisible rabbit :)
Mr. wOw gives James Cameron's 3-D Movie 'Avatar' an F
Despite the fact that I do consider myself a Kate Winslet fan (Heavenly Creatures comes immediately to mind), I’ve never seen Titanic. Just hearing the song on the radio a bajillon times kind of put me off.
The only James Cameron movie I really enjoyed was The Abyss - Extended Version.
And for the record, I’m getting so tired of classic movies redone. The reasons they are classics to begin with are because they are wonderful in their own right. Don’t mess with it!
Ahhhh, I feel MUCH better now :D

The Bathing Suit Chronicles: A wOw Conversation
Good point, James. I don’t see either why we can’t wear shorts & t-shirts either - why must it be a bikini? I have to admit, I had never thought of it, mainly because it’s ingrained in my head that I MUST wear a real swim suit.
There are quite a few catalogues out there anymore that cater to an active woman out on the beach, and I’ve noticed a lot of the suits are NOT bikinis. They are swim shorts and practical tops that keep the "girls" in place. I’ve been oggling those clothes as of late because not only are they practical, they are flattering as well. I frankly don’t care what I wear as long as it makes me feel pretty and makes me stand up straight and walk with confidence. If I put something on, and I feel all self-conscious and constantly pulling an area down or watching other areas to make sure nothing is showing, that one doesn’t get worn.
