I did leave a cheating man whom I loved - & it was a terrible wrench.  If she is ill leave her the comfort of her home and familiar surroundings.  Doing otherwise would be too much for her - so we should be kind and hope the best for her. She understands that anger or revenge now would be pointless - and that’s wise.

Re the "Open" thing - in my experience such arrangements are almost always initiated by the male of the couple - & the female just goes along with it…If that is the case, lady beware, as it is manipulation of the worst kind!

I am a semi-city person - as I have lived for years in the ex-suburb of Hollywood, CA in the big city of Los Angeles.  But I have a lychee tree outside my window and roses and greenery and sidewalks because this is an old neighborhood. Not the concrete of NYC or even London - and there is still Kultur!  How can anyone live in a high rise in L.A.? But they do?

Yes, I have benefited, because all of my thrifty strategies, which are second nature after my years of being an artiste, come into play even more now during a downturn - and I have acquired added strength - even self-esteem to know that these skills, now out of the closet - do have definite WORTH.

In L.A. we have waves of flus and other cold-like germs overtake us on a regular basis.  I thought it was normal until my sister who then lived in Philadelphia had not idea what I was talking about.  But we are a port city & classically those have been subject to foreign bugs of all sorts. We must also remember that the deaths in Mexico City had been made worse by their very bad air quality - which would have already compromised the respiratory systems of the victims.  But still, the origin of this virus in large industrial hog farms, which are no doubt not very well-policed as to hygiene, is very disturbing. In sum, there is a LOT more of this than goes reported, altho the outbreaks may be much smaller. And yes, we have to beware of unleashing virulent strains of virus through our own stupidity and carelessness.

Lucky you, Candice.  But some to think about it, I have never gotten "fired" per se, either - I have been "let go" in one way or another - and had jobs dropped just when I thought they were mine - (ouch!) But in shoz biz jobs have a tendency to melt away rather than resorting to firing.

 

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think I understood an L.A. newspaper article (or at least I think it was there) saying that the credit card cos. had switched their hdqtrs from NYC (becaz NY has anti-usury laws) to a Western state like N. Dakota (?) which did NOT.  Remember the sin of usury?  The bankers should re-read their Dante!

My husband in his teaching career ran into spiteful & manipulative students - as have I - They are playing the system like a violin - and here the parents are just as bad! It’s this sort of psyche that led to the tragic cyber-bulling case.
