Mary Wells: I Started Buying Yves Saint Laurent Couture Before I Could Afford It

Mary Wells and Yves St Laurent are very alike…..glamour and status but quality , consistency , too. the success of WR & G was based on brains and savvy,,,on quality and results. Yves St Laurent was a business success , too. Flair without quality would not have been as valuable. the only “knock off ” or “copy” i ever owned was the Mondrian dress, and I wish I still had the dress. Ms Wells’ ballgown is gorgeous and timeless. the photograph : total joy……

What advice do you have for Hillary Clinton?

rest. listen to herself…i know this sounds stupid new agey,,,but much of her advice during the campaign was damaging. help Obama. then,,,do what SHE wants: work in the Senate, where her reelection is not assured???? her choice. if he offers VP ..take it?? her choice??? lead a think tank??? her choice??? live for herself. and,,, thank you, Senator for your hard work .

HerTube: Do You Know This Woman?

this is not the sort of thing i log on to this site for….

Liz Smith on Hillary: 'A Lot of Obama's Supporters Would Just Die if He Chose Her'

Hillary Clinton would be a terrific Vice-President, and her presence on the ticket would help so much in the fall. that’s the important thing: beat McBush. and it may be tought to do. yes,it may be awkward to have Bill Clinton around, but they can figure out how to keep him busy and out of the way. the vice-presidency is no longer just a gofer position/waiting game, but has become significant in it’s own right. the United States is in the worst shape of my lifetime and we need the best, the very best in positions of power. and Hillary Clinton is one of the best. she would add balance to the ticket and the executive branch when in office. she has the maturity to follow President Obama’s direction, but the brains and the skills to make a positive difference for this country. thats the important thing: the help us.. the United States: around the world and on domestic problems. I have no doubt that Obama will be a forceful President and I hope that he is strong enough to ask Sen Clinton to join him. We need her.

What television show do you miss the most?

Mary Tyler Moore. Carol Burnett…and,,not that I admit this, but Dallas.

Whoopi: 'I Don't Think I Was Ever Mean'

oh, one more thing. I watched Whoopi Goldberg’s late night interview show. Yes, I was the one. She was great at interviews, she let her subjects answer with more than a few words. She let the subject speak. Interviewing is harder than it looks and Ms. Goldberg was terrific . I’m glad she is on The View, but she is more talented/intelligent than is allowed on that program. Maybe an occasional special/interivew show??? Or, maybe she could interview people she finds interesting on wowowow.????? WowOWow. wowOwow. WhAtEveR.

Whoopi: 'I Don't Think I Was Ever Mean'

Whoopi Goldberg. A brilliant, BRILLIANT actress. Corinna Corinna, one of my favorites. We need more movies with Whoopi. thank you Liz Smith, wonderful interview.

On '60 Minutes:' Still a Chance Al Gore Might Enter the Presidential Race?

oh good grief. that’s all the Democrats need, first: Hillary and Obama ruin a perfect ticket, now, Al Gore, who was a loser in 2000 ????? oh,please, no. I will watch the Stahl interview because she is a great journalist and always interesting. but no Gore.

Are Those Breasts for Real?

thank you for the accurate words about Jayne Mansfield. Growing up in University Park, now the number two upscale neighborhood in Dallas, she excelled as a student, smart and well-liked. Ms. Hargitay redeems her mother’s sad later life with her talent and compassion.

A Whole New Dimension to 'Dear Abby' and wOw on FOX Business Network

thank you for this postings because i rarely watch Fox . I am thrilled , just thrilled with wowOwow. I have admired Mary Wells forever, read her book etc. Such smart , sophisticated , INTERESTING women. i hope your investment multiplies many times over…thank you

What is the biggest lie you have ever believed?

that the Kennedys were a happy family

Teddy Kennedy and the Last Time I Ever Wore THAT Dress

Ms. Wells said’ late 60s ’ along with the shifts,,by 1969 i was wearing Rudi Gernrich….pretty simple..no puff

Teddy Kennedy and the Last Time I Ever Wore THAT Dress

the bobby socks etc were in the fifties……along with poodle skirts , crinolines, etc. Ms. Wells said ‘late sixties’….crinolines long gone

Long Live Gossip and Celebrity Worship

Lindbergh. assume some twenty-something copy editor made this mistake. i am , after all, a proud graduate of the most pretigious private school in Denton Tx.( being most facetious…)

Teddy Kennedy and the Last Time I Ever Wore THAT Dress

what?? crinolines?? I was pretty fashion concious in those days, although not in the same category as Mrs Harding Lawrence, but all I remember are straight, simple, ‘shift’ types,,,from the Maisonette at Neimans…Louis Feraud,,,Even the Diors, Norell, Correges , all simple …Ms. Wells, please explain.
