The Silver Tsunami: Is Gray the New Power Hair Color for Women?

LOL, your husband has a very delicate turn of phrase!

The Silver Tsunami: Is Gray the New Power Hair Color for Women?

Oops, pardon me. I meant Ms. Naughton. Don’t know where the Scottish bit came from!

The Silver Tsunami: Is Gray the New Power Hair Color for Women?

No. There’s lots of comments on here that I don’t agree with. But most of them are not made in the carping tone that Ms. McNaughton uses. If she wants to be so unpleasant, I thought she might find another forum where her whining would be better appreciated.

Perhaps you should take your cow and go find somewhere else to play since you’ve done nothing but criticize this forum since you started posting!

The Silver Tsunami: Is Gray the New Power Hair Color for Women?

Gosh, perhaps I should go for the rainbow mohawk with the grey sides! *passes out*

That’s one gorgeous dog. And the dual-tone effect sure looks good on him. Perhaps I should learn to say “arf”!

The Silver Tsunami: Is Gray the New Power Hair Color for Women?

That’s all very nice and lovely. But what about those of us whose natural color is a horrible mishmash of white in front, gray on the top and sides, and brown in the back! I’d love to let my hair grow out to its natural color if it were a nice even shade of gray. But unfortunately I am not that lucky.

Have you ever met a stranger on a plane with whom you've formed a relationship?

I totally agree with Carol. I only fly long distance and once I’m on the plane, I like to completely space out into a twilight zone so I don’t have to think about anything (except food) until I arrive.

The Trouble With Dynasties, by Margo Howard

I have nothing against family members achieving the same high office. My main concern is with competence. And I think we are suffering from a severe lack thereof in our current president. Personally I supported Hillary because I thought she would have made an extremely competent president. The fact that she is the wife of a former president only enhanced her qualifications as far as I could see. I just hope that Mr. Obama turns out to be as good at the job as he says he will be, despite his lack of experience in almost all matters presidential.

Who Is the Real Fifth Beatle?

There’s no “also known as” about it. Her name is/was Cilla Black. I don’t know where Liz came up with the “Brown” bit, but it’s a definite misnomer.

Who Is the Real Fifth Beatle?

Oh I’m so glad someone else got their facts straight too. I couldn’t believe it when I read this piece. Liz, you’re slipping my dear! I was a big fan of Cilla Black and always watched when she was on “Top of the Pops”. It was always my opinion that she should not have had the beauty spot on her chin removed, but this was before Cindy Crawford and I suppose Cilla was pressured into having it taken off.

Congress and the Supreme Court Are on My Last Nerve, by Monica Crowley

to grant U.S. constitutional rights and privileges to the foreign terrorist suspects”. Excuse me, but the right of habeas corpus is not an exclusively “U.S. constitutional right.” It has been an accepted right in many countries, particularly the U.K., for many centuries. And, as noted above, it is also a component of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It’s time the U.S. got with the program and started behaving like a civilized country in the 21st century.

What is your favorite perfume? What do you associate with it?

Oscar de la Renta. Just smells fresh and sexy. Makes me feel a bit glamorous and less frumpy.

Message to All Whining Female Democrats: Hillary's Out. Get Over It, by Barbara Goldsmith

Same for me too. Age has nothing to do with it. What matters is that in the 21st century, the majority of people communicate using technology. For a prospective President of the U.S. not to know how to use basic technology is frightening. It indicates a serious gap in his view of the world and in my opinion, makes him greatly more susceptible to his advisors’ influence. There has been plenty said about Dubya’s strings being pulled by Cheney because George W. doesn’t bother to form his own opinions. We don’t want any more of that! We want a president who is informed and engaged, and competence in using today’s technology is a great part of that. Not some dinosaur who doesn’t know one end of an email from another.

America Better Get Used To Sharing Power With Asia, by Vishakha N. Desai

If we got rid of this ridiculous primary extravaganza and got rid of the electoral college, and just had a vote for president, or even had proportional voting, we’d be a whole lot better off in my opinion.
