Manson Murderess Begs for Mercy

I’m a strong opponent of the death penalty but I believe “life in prison” should mean Life In Prison full stop. Her relatives can still visit her even if she is in a prison hospital. Why should she be let out just because she’s dying? She can die in prison just as well as she can die in the home of a relative. I won’t even bitch about the cost of keeping her there. I think she is a very deserving cause for the prison system. It’s where she belongs, unlike many other incarcerated unfortunates who should be in rehab rather than the clink. California spends so much of my taxes on building and maintaining prisons for minimal offenders (I’m very much opposed to the 3-strikes law for non-violent offenses), yet here we are with a person who deserves to stay in prison and the powers-that-be are talking about letting her out. This is a crazy world!

Joan Ganz Cooney: Is Healthy Eating Leading to Cancer?

Those really are home truths. Tis a pity the U.S. Congress can’t get their heads round those principles.

'Trouble' in Paradise? Leona Helmsley's Dog Gets Her Rations Cut

Perhaps if she stopped screaming at him to begin with, she’d have more luck with getting his cooperation.

Panty Hose, Former Symbol of Women’s Lib, Dead at 43

I rarely wear pantyhose but I do wear opaque tights in the winter if I wear a skirt. But it’s so true how fabulous pantyhose were after wearing garter belts. I’ll never forget the picture of a girl in a mini skirt hugging her boyfriend and displaying a huge white gap between the bottom of her skirt and the top of her stockings, a hideous space broken only by the suspenders holding her stockings up. I swore then and there that I would never never never look like that.

Beautiful, smart AND rich!!!

Advice to Those About to Marry: Don't! Here's Why ...

That sounds like my wedding C A, only not as much alcohol was involved. He called me at work on a Friday morning because all his patients had canceled. We got a license from the courthouse but there was no one available to marry us. So we (with a couple of friends, his father, and his father’s lady friend) had lunch in a local deli. Then we drove to another courthouse where there was a judge available in the afternoon. So we got married and then I went back to the office. He had patients on Saturday so on Sunday we went on a 1-day honeymoon to a local resort. The marriage lasted four years, which was about three and a half years too long.

What's Safe and What's Not on Friday the 13th

I was born on the 13th of May, but not on a Friday, and I’ve always thought of it as a lucky day.

wOw Scenes: Our Pets

Those were really cute photos. I would never have thought of Liz as a Dachshund person. Love those King Charles spaniels.

What advice do you have for Hillary Clinton?

I agree that she should take a break before going on the stump for Obama. But I don’t agree that she should pack Bill off somewhere out of sight. It has always been my view that Bill Clinton loves his wife very much and whatever else he may have gotten up to does not detract from that truth. No doubt he is having just as hard a time as Hillary in accepting the disappointment of her not getting the nomination. In fact, probably it’s a lot harder for him, since he doesn’t have a prestigious job to return to, unlike Hillary who at least has her Senate position to occupy her. Once she has had some time to think things through, she should put all her considerable energy into getting Obama elected.
