The Gloves

Forget the question….How about the poem you wrote!!!! Sheila it is brilliant! Bravo! Beautiful!!!

Letter to a Dead Great-Aunt: A Personal Memoir

Dearest Sheila, What a beautiful, beautiful tribute. I am also a child of Russian Jewish immigrants. And like you, I am not religious but believe in memories. To My Beautiful Mama, I lost you when I was 27 after just giving birth to our Keithie Boy, the second of my three children. You helped me raise Misha until she was 4, you held newborn Keith in your arms three months before you died of lung cancer, but you never met Kenny. Ken now 19 years old and gorgeous, he looks just like Daddy. My precious children missed out on having you, Sweet Mama. Fortunately, for me, I have become the very image of you. Sometimes as I look at myself in the mirror I feel as though I am looking at you. I lost you when I was 27. I am now 50, yet strangely enough you have been with me in my heart ever since. Love Rachel

Message to All Whining Female Democrats: Hillary's Out. Get Over It, by Barbara Goldsmith

Thank you! I couldn’t agree more. I am taking Hilary’s advise, and supporting Obama with all my heart! Ladies, let’s move forward together and make a difference. What good does all this complaining do, nothing, it’s a waste of time. Hilary is out, let’s join our votes to put Obama in and bring our boys home from Iraq!!!

The Desert Island Reading List

HaHa! No thank you, just my intuition ;)

The Desert Island Reading List

I just read everyone’s entries. Ladies, we are fantasizing here, no need for survival worries. This is a readers dream. I’m picturing white sandy beaches, palm trees swaying in the breeze all needs taken care of so that I can gaze out into the ocean and read to my hearts content. I’d also bring the precious children’s novels, Anne of Green Gables, The Hobbit, Treasure Island, etc. Notice that it doesn’t says we are banned on the island forever. So I’m going to say I’m banned for two weeks, all means included, great wine in the evening and good strong coffee in the morning. Perhaps a handsome, intelligent man in his mid 50’s is banned down the beach a ways so we could discuss books, sip wine and …. flirt.

The Desert Island Reading List

I’d take a case filled with all the classics from Dickens to Tolstoy to Shakespeare. I’ve read a fair share of them. Few writers today can compare with their richness and depth, a combination of beautiful imagery, a telling of universal truthes, a weaving of words that borders on poetry. I’d also take a fair share of erotica :)

Have you ever cheated on your partner?

Amazing how the only women who are replying have “never, ever cheated”!!! So for the rest you scarlet woman, I’ll bring the wine, you choose the place and let’s talk. I also happen to be happily married. Sometimes things just happen. We actually aren’t all that different from men if we are being HONEST!

Chills in the Hot Sun

Oh my Gosh! Please tell me she went inside her own room, freshened up, had a glass of wine from the mini bar, applied a bit of lipstick and knocked on his door!

On '60 Minutes:' What a Lack of Sleep Does to the Mind, Sex Life and Reaction Time

I watched 60 Minutes last night on what lack of sleep does to the mind. With menopause I figure I’m getting around 4 1/2 hours of sleep a night. I start out early and fall asleep with little problem, but after an hour or two I’m watching every hour as it passes. I was hoping that the show would comment on the use of sleeping aid and whether they help or hinder the effects of sleep deprivation. I’m at a loss on how to overcome this problem.
