Rosie O. Analyzes 'Angry' Ann Coulter

Any chance that Rosie would join the WOW team. She can be angry…but usually about things that matter, in my mind, I’d love to hear more from her.

Brittany Catanzaro, 19, A wowOwow "Top 20 Female Firsts" Designee, Saves 24 in Hudson River Airplane Rescue

WOW Brittany…thank you for being you…you are one awesome lady..congratulations!

How are you planning to mark the Inauguration?

sigh..I’ll be working but will watch reruns when I get home. May the “Force Be With Him”…..sorry I couldn’t resist. He has such a big job and the world needs him and his staff to do well, actually better than welll…great!

How do you spend most of your online time?

I really just do my e-mail, which isn’t much and then do WOW. Maybe some shopping but usually only over the holidays. Have a good day all.

What's the best thing you do for YOU?

Ok Ok I will “fess up”. The best thing I do for me …just for me is eat chocolate and watch funny programs on TV. Then I find I can be a better mother, wife and person. I do exercise but that is because it’s good for you. So there honest to the bone. Here’s to a much better New Year and we all hope to heavens the Obama can fix the US which in tern assists all of us. Mind you saying that doesn’t preclude all of us doing our bit as well to make this a better world. Now…I’m off the soap box…have a great day everyone.

The Daily Deed

There is a woman on the corner everyday that I go to work. She sells a weekly newspaper to make enough money for food for the day for her and her son. I give her money through out the year and a bigger sum over the holidays. I feel she earns it as I receive a great smile from her every work day and even if I didn’t get the smile I would still help out. My children and husband all were raised with the idea that we can always give something. Socks in the winter time to shelters, you can get 12 pairs of socks at Costco for 14.99 not a bad deal and a great present for someone with cold wet feet. I am so heartened to hear all of the stories written on this blog…that is my greatest gift from all of you….Many many thanks.

533,000 New Unemployment Claims as Rate Hits 6.7%

We’re having a hard time here in Ontario Canada too. Hang in there and pray is the best I can do plus give to our many food banks and gifts for children and the homeless. Our churches and synagogues also have “out of the cold nights” which give a dinner and a warm place to sleep every night for five months in the winter. The meals are great and it’s all done by volunteers. Our high schools demand 40 hours of community service before they can graduate… so we have high school kids setting up tables and beds.

OJ Simpson Gets At Least 15 Years For Robbery, Other Convictions

Finally…..Justice was done..a little late but done. I feel so sorry for his children.

Remember when ... What is your favorite high school memory?

I went to five different high schools. One was a private school in Conn. that I got kicked out of. That really was my proudest moment of all the high schools. Hated it all…got into university and got on with life which I love ! University was a different story. Anti-war movement and procivil rights (this was before drugs…honest). Now that was great stuff and great music to go with it the years were 1964 to 1968.

Kidman Uses Star Power to Fight Violence Against Women

The problem with ‘No tolerence” is that kids who come from homes that have violence in them and act out at school are then kicked out of school and then a whole nasty cycle happens to them not only at home but on the street. Violence in the home is about i in 4 in Canda), it really is that high. I’m not talking just about physical violence there is emotional and verbal violence that can really take someone’s sense of self away and the damage goes on for years. School should make it part of the curriculum about what a healthy relationship looks like and what an abusive relationship looks like. Here in Toronto Canada we have great subway ads that show what verbal violence is like. I’ve got my student social worker talking to our homework club once a month about what relationships can be like and what an unhealthy one looks like. We also need better supports for parents and kids. The men that (yes I know it is not always men) that do the violence often come from horrendous backgrounds and need counseling as much as the woman. Better parenting and being emotionaliy connected to your kids would stop a lot of kids from ending up in or being violent in relationships.

Nebraska Amends 'Safe Haven' Laws

Micky Mc …you make an excellent point. I can’t believe the new law. There is no mention of more services for people, usually women, with children. You ever think of becoming an activist….you sound like you would make a good one,. You’ve been there and survived!

What fantasy concert reunion would you most like to see?

How about Janis Joplin…but with a better band behind her. (I know it said bands but Janis was a band all by herself!). I picked the Supremes but if I had two choices I would have added the Beatles and …three ….Crosby Stills and Nash …..oh my gods the list can go on and on. Great memories on a very cold morning! Have a good weekend all!

What's next for Sarah Palin?

I agree with judy…let’s stop giving her media coverage. She is truly one scary lady that brings out the mean spirit in people.

Ann E. Dunwoody Made First Female Four-Star General

Wow congratulations Dunwoody. Now if you can fight to get better health benefits for people that suffer from PTSD and the woman who are raped that would be really great. You have a tough job…Good Luck!

What is the first movie you ever saw in a movie theater? What do you remember about it?

My first movie that I remember was seen in White Plains New York, It was THEM. A horror movie about giant ants, I still remember it to this day. I still love movies. Like Candis, I was a 40 year old Mom and loved the Disney stuff as well. Still like some of it. Happy viewing!
