I gotta be true…i couldn’t be less interested. I think part of people being stunned by actors is partly why they can’t see the real Sarah Palin for the nut case that she is. A pretty face and Mom’s apple pie rhetoric and some people are ga ga.

The morning is the time I like to be left alone. To read the newspaper by myself and just get my head empty before I start a busy day. An empty head is a real gift believe it or not.

I apologize to Mary but I didn’t know where else to post this. In the New York Times today on page A23 there is an article by Hillary Clinton and Cecile Richards that talk about ( what I think) is a dangerous new law. People have until Sept. 25 to respond. It basically says that any health care provided that does not agree with birth control or abortion or other kinds of birth control devises have the right to denie woman the knowledge of this information. In other words if a nurse or a doctor in an emergency room is anti birth control then that individual person has the right to withhold information from a female and not give her all the options open and that are legally her right. This is a very dangerous piece of legislation. I just wanted people to be aware of this

Frankly this scares the hell out of me. I am not in the financial world. I’m guessing this is all part of the greed that took place when deregulations were put in place. I have a misguided faith that people smarter then me who are experts in financial stuff will look after the “greater good”. OK OK I now know I was living in the land of Oz. But really there must be people out there that can sort this out and maybe in five years or sooner we will be back to “normal”. What I mean by that is if you buy a house you will have a job or jobs that can pay for it and put some money in the bank. I really feel for all the people who lost there jobs. Because I imagine a lot of them are like my family we live from paycheque to paycheque. It really takes your breath away. My prayers are with all of us.

Ethel had twin boys I can not imagine how they feel today knowing they lost their mother in a wrongful decision. I think the boys were 10 when their mother was murdered by the state. I know that is a strong word but that is how I view the death penalty. And this decision plus many other wrongful ones just makes my point.

Our thoughts and prayer are with you guys in Texas and the rest of the areas that will be hit. I watch TV and find myself holding my breath. If you’re losing your home to bungled bank regulations than it’s to a hurricane. My prayers to all of you.

Craig F. is spot on….wish something could be done about the media. We’re in an election here in Canada and on the front page of our newspaper was an article on Sarah Palin and our own election news was buried in the back. That is truly a very sad state of media…and yes I am going to send an e-mail to the Toronto Star. Idiots all of them…sorry but I am really angry that America media is treating this election like a rock star thing and our media is right behind your media. We need another revolt!

Whoopie…I’ve got to agree with the others. You nailed it. This lady, and I use the word loosely, is one scary dudette. I am so glad a number of woman on WOW really get this lady. However please don’t let your guard down you still need Obama in the White House. Good luck. I have my own fight up here as our election will be in October and Harper is not far behind Mc Cain. Keep up the fight. Is anyone else feeling sad that this 17 year old is getting married. It’s OK to have the baby I’m all for that. I mean there by the grace of God go a lot of us. But marriage. Isn’t she and he a bit young? What about learning about the world and college and good stuff like that !

Those of you that say you can’t support her for her political views… I feel is the right way to go. Lots of working Mom’s deal with bigger stuff than this. Remember she’ll have staff to do dinner and clean up. Single parents Mom’s are hero’s to me because they have to do it all with no help often from anyone! I don’t agree with her political views..she scares the hell out of me.

Somedays I would like to be a construction worker that blows things up or tears down bad buildings to put up safer ones. Slinging a sledgehammer somedays would feel really good. Other than that I have been very very lucky and do what I love to do. Other days flying a really fast jet sounds like fun too. One can always dream!

Hi Kitty, At the risk of sounding too simplistic I would say greed has to be kept in check. If employers provide a safe environment to work in with the proper tools, a good living wage ( I know that differs for different people and different jobs) and respect in the work place…. that can go a long way to keeping a balance. On the part of the workers respect also has to be there and to be realistic as to how much of a raise is truly fair. To do the job as best as you can. I currently work in a place where respect for the workers is at an all time low. Our union president is weak and we are all suffering. I can’t go into details but respect for workers does go a long way. Respect meaning recognizing a job well done ,especially after 18 years, and handling conflict in a respectful manner and not be bullied by management. I am not an expert on unions but I am an expect on respect and we all deserve it ….employees and employers. Frank and others will probably answer this better than I. Have a great day.
