If you were a household appliance, what would you be?

sorry to be dumb but what is LMAO? Thanks.

If you were a household appliance, what would you be?

I’m with CA Rose. A washing machine would suit me just fine. As I often get into trouble with my big mouth and do blow hot and cold as well. Coming out clean would be a great thing for me! Is the TV really an appliance? I thought TV is a necessity like food and wine.

Have you turned into your mother? If so, how?

Flora…thank you so much for your thoughts. We did get down there and on Sat we all thought she wouldn’t make it through the night. When we went back on Mother’s Day the very next day, she was alert again and she remember seeing the kids and us the day before. We all had a little talk and then headed back home. She’ll probably not last the month and my husband and I will try to get down there again. What ever happens, that Mother’s Day when we saw her more alert will be a great memory to have. Thanks again for your thoughts.

Have you turned into your mother? If so, how?

oh my…this is a hard day. I’ve just learned from my mother’s nursing home that she is fading . We live 10 hours away and are going tomorrow morning. My adult kids are coming with us. My mother is a very difficult woman. She was raised by a raging alcoholic mother and a verbally and physically abusive father. She didn’t learn good parenting. However I still have some nice memories of her. Few but some and I’ll cling on to those. I also know that I have treated her with respect and that makes me proud. My mother was a fighter in her own way and that is one trait I have learned from her and give thanks for that. Rock on Mom I’m sure you’ll organize God. Have fun!

If you were a superheroine, which one would you be?

Ok if we’re talking suerheroins I’d have to say Storm of the X-Men. I love a good fantasy and comic books sometimes does just the right trick.

Life in the Little Lane: Edith Ann on Having a Bad Temper

Wow anger..we need it sometimes to keep us safe. Anger can propel us to do good things like anti-war and other anti good stuff to be angry about. Anger at friends and people is another thing. Thanks heavens I have learned language that can get me to express my anger without doing verbal harm. (most of the time!) When you get angry at someone ,scratch the surface and you may be hurt and angry. When I get angry at my husband or my kids I need to know what is going on with me. I was raised in a household of very angry people, not nice to say the least and I am really glad I’m learning how to use and where to direct and express my anger. For me it is a lifelong process and I hope I get it right before I leave this planet. I’m now 63 and still working on it.

Marlo Thomas: The Media Steals Our Chances of a Fair Election

I agree with Marlo and a lot of the rest of you. The news that appears to captivate people or what the news people think captivates people is truly awful. I find if I want to find out what is going on I watch my local PBS. I find more balance there. True it takes more time and is not made up of sound bites but at least I think I am getting a more balanced coverage. Do any of you watch your local PBS?

Change the World

I was wondering if the change the world questions can be broken up in different subjects. Medical, mental health, jobs, poverty, different world issues, relationships and so one? I’, sure I’ve missed a bunch. What do other people think? It might make it more manageable.

Have you ever experienced sex discrimination? If so, what did you do about it?

I really think it is best just to ignore this man. Then maybe he will fade away.

Thank you for putting this out in the open. It is a problem among girls In Toronto, Ontario in grades as early as 6th. It is a real problem.

Change the World

Sorry this thank you is late. Thank you for your response and taking the time. I guess voting tor Nader is not a bad idea. Maybe if he get enough votes the politicians will take greater notice of the value of this ol’earth and more safety standards. I truly think Hillary has good values certainty better than the one who is in office now!

Forty years ago, students shut down Columbia University protesting the Vietnam War. Have you ever marched in a protest?

Oh boy what a question, time to brag. I am so proud to have marched against the Vietnam war plus marching for the civil rights movement and with Caesar Chavez. I went to University in California, Sacramento. I learned more about life and the value of it on the marches than in school. Marching made me aware of how important freedoms of speech and the right to choose were and still are. In 1968 there was a large backlash and many people felt in my circle of family that if you love the US you either had to love it or leave it. No middle ground. Friends of mine were being jailed for marching and being too out spoken. I choose to leave and came to Canada in 1969. Canada is great and I do love it however I do miss the passions of politics back home. I know the elections this time around seem rough but my God feel proud as anything that everyone has the right to speak out!

petite bateau..when my husband and I married and I mean the first six months we both thought opps. We each got individual counseling and realized we really did want to say together. After the individual work, which we both really needed, we got marriage counseling. 37 years later we’re still good. No one is more amazed then we are. I wish you good luck! P.S. what does you GUT tell you and be truthful!
