Yes, that’s exactly right, though I have to admit I liked that one less, but it’s a personal thing, I just don’t like red and black together, the design in general was interesting I thought. Isn’t it fun to play fashion critic? or better yet, to be interested in someone enough to play fashion critic. I don’t think I ever mustered up an opinion about anything Laura Bush ever wore, haha!

Great films both of them, aren’t they? glad to hear you know Fresa y Chocolate, I love that movie too, and getting a glimpse of Cuban life in Cuba was great for me, I had the opportunity to travel there a few years ago for the first time as an adult (I left when I was 3) and it was an amazing experience, truly a bittersweet place, where people dance and joke thru all their difficulties.

Yeah, no kidding, wouldn’t it be great if we could just erase it all? hopefully that’s what this administration will set out to do… and how did they manage to bamboozle so many Dems into voting in their twisted laws?… ugh, I’m just relieved that hopefully this level of nightmare is completely behind us now.

Yes, Mugsy, I agree that she’s been good with gay issues and that’s great, one of the reasons I supported her for so long, but it’s just that I remember seeing her defend the Patriot Act so unequivocally that it sort sent a chill down my spine. I’m no political sophisticate but I just could not see the rational behind the support. And perhaps being an immigrant and nationalized citizen made me even more fearful of that particular law.

I think the dress is probably very beautiful up close and in person, and maybe not as breathtaking in front of the camera but I still think she looks beautiful, THEY look beautiful, fresh, young and modern, I’m happy. And how wonderful it is that she chose to feature these diverse and talented designers, they must be over the moon happy, Jason Wu is 26 yrs. old, for Pete’s Sake, and Isabel Toledo! a Cuban American (like me), how cool is that? And those two beautiful little girls in their custom J Crew! just too cute, ah, style and taste is in the White House once again :)

I don’t even know what to say, I can’t find the words. I wish I could clearly express everything I am feeling today and how important it has been to me to have this site to go to throughout this whole journey. I wish I were witty enough to match all the insight, humor, and wisdom I’ve witnessed here, not even going to try! but God, what a day, all the joy, pride, hope, clarity and deeply profound relief that has stirred through my heart, through the whole country, the world actually, is palpable… we have so much to do together and the comfort of knowing that we are back, the country that I have long known and loved is finally back, sits warmly in me.

Yeah, you know, I’m torn, these words were brilliant and I only hope reflects her true convictions, but as a California resident I have supported her over the years based on her work in SF during the Milk/Moscone years but could no longer continue to do so after she voted for the Patriot Act twice. I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt once again but cautiously so…

The girls looked amazing this morning, just too cute! And the fact that Michelle is wearing Isabel Toledo just rocks, not only is she an amazingly original designer and completely an insider fashionista but she’s Cuban! yay! makes another Cuban American (me) so proud! and so is Narciso Rodriguez for that matter, how cool is that?! woo-hoo! Cubans rocking White House fashion!

This is fun! isn’t it a breath of fresh air to have the word “fun” appear anywhere near the word “President”? Whatever she wears I am sure will be classy and elegant, she has a great sense of style. I love the way they both looked yesterday, just too cool to have people will a great taste level be the face of our country. I’m so freakin’ excited about tomorrow I know I won’t get a wink of sleep, working from home and planning on being glued to the tv and to the computer.
