What does it say about America's international leadership that Britain's Gordon Brown bested the Paulson Plan?

I’ve said that for years. It’s the only way the politicians will learn to quit making promies they don’t plan to keep.

Dear Mommy Dearest, Of course there were delays due to the uproar, because it was a bad plan. Which didn’t get any better the second time around. But that doesn’t explain once the bail out was approved Paulson took weeks before doing anything. Why did he move so slowly once he had approval when according to him we needed to move quickly. We shouldn’t be giving money to companies who are failing. Someone needs to take a wire coat hanger to Paulson. Know anyone? BTW - I don’t think Joan Crawford was known for saying ‘dahling’. That was Tallulah Bankhead; who Joan loved just as much as she loved Bette. I do love your little takes on things.

Here in S. CA I’m in the 47th district with one of the Sanchez sisters as a Rep. She voted no on the bail out, wonder if that was for political reasons. I receive pre-written e-mails from Boxer and Sanchez. Probably don’t even read what anyone is saying.

Judith Martin (AKA Miss Manners) Says It's All About Greed

I’m not sure greed is the right word. People who live above their means are just SPOILED. To me greed is when you manipulate the stock market or sell homes with funny finances - making money while others will be hurt. Buying a 42” HD TV when you already have a perfectly good TV, but you just have to have it. Your spoiled. Or maybe they think their Scarlett O’Hara - I’ll spend $1,000.00 for this fancy widget, I’ll pay for it later because “after all tomorrow is another day”

Once again Americans were speaking out against the bail out and our elected officials ignored our voice. Politicians are so much smarter, they followed the direction of a President, who they followed right into Iraq.(being sarcastic) Don’t people learn from their mistakes! What we need in this country is politicians with common sense and integrity. Anyone in Northern California in Pelosi district, please vote her out.

Monica Crowley: There's a Fine Line Between 'Maverick' and 'Ass'

Oh yes! I was thinking the same thing, That Girl watched the show on ABC every week. Mrs. Muir was ok, I liked the ghost and his beard a little more. Barbara Stanwyck in The Big Valley for an older role model. Remeber Honey West with Anne Francis? Short lived, enjoyed the show. “I just feel that the Democratic ticket is what works for me” - Definitely do what works for you.

Who are your favorite contemporary literary heroes or heroines?

Bonnie, Will be thinking of you. Always be positive, it’s hard at times. But you have to keep your thoughts and hopes up.

Oh, Gulliver, Are you also saying what North Vietnam did to the South Vietnamese after we left their country was OK? McCain was in the military, he followed orders, that was his job. McCain has changed from his war experience. Hopefuly we all have changed and grown over the years.

What is your favorite form of procrastination?

Thanks I’ll have to check into Kodak.

Monica Crowley: There's a Fine Line Between 'Maverick' and 'Ass'

M L, Yes, I saw that, thanks. That was a good catch. How did you ever find it?

Monica Crowley: There's a Fine Line Between 'Maverick' and 'Ass'

Chips - McCain himself admits to his flaws when he was younger. I prefer someon as President who admits to failings. Someone mentioned others were offered early release, I think I heard at least one did take early release. Even if others were offered the release, McCain said No, he could just as easily had said yes. My original comment was saying McCain could have a lot of anger towards the Vietnamese, he does not. He has let his anger go and moved on to work with them. Is that Mrs. Emma Peel on your avatar? Loved her, when I was grewing up I wanted to be a combination of Mrs. Peel and Mary Richards from the Mary Tyler Moore show.

Oh, you don’t make a big deal out of photoshopping the pic of the little daughter changing it to the finger. Someone did that to an under aged girl. But you question Palin’s parenting skills. Well, what I see is her children seem very happy,

Monica Crowley: There's a Fine Line Between 'Maverick' and 'Ass'

Oh Dona, I agree both sides are not perfect.

SomChics - I’m with you on the 5 points you mentioned. My concerns with Obama is his relationships with ACORN, Ayers and two ex-CEO of Freddie Max. Even if they all live ‘in the same neighborhood’, that’s a lot of block parties they attended.
