When a company's opinions or stances are discordant with your own, are you reluctant to buy from them?

C Jay; you said it and you said it well. I stopped watching The View a long time ago and will not contribute either my time or money to any of Mel Gibson’s work. As well, I did join a different fitness group when it became evident where my money was going at Curves. So, I do agree, I will not give a company who is immoral, unethical or hurting people in some way my business. They may not feel my little stand, but I feel better about it.

How do you define success?

We’ve achieved things that went beyond our dreams. Yet, my definition of success be that our children are now trying to duplicate for their children their own childhood. As well, our kids are adults that I want for friends.

How many magazine subscriptions do you have?

Absolutely agree Dee — I subscribed to Oprah’s magazine at one time and could barely find the articles hidden away as they were in advertisements.

Do you attend organized religious or spiritual services?

Reply to both Rita and Chips — of course this is a personal comment and that is how I felt when holding my babies and my grandchildren. I believe in evolution as well — but there are some things, for me, that are just not explained away with scientific fact………..if that gives me comfort, why should that bother anyone?

Phyllis, why my feelings are so annoying to you is truly perplexing. I believe in God — for many reasons, children being one of them. Don’t get your panties in a twist — you believe what you want and I’ll fight for your beliefs as well.

Perhaps I should have been clearer — when I first beheld my children and grandchildren, my feelings went beyond anything I knew and could only be described as religious, in fact, I kept saying it was a miracle. To form these children, there had to be a God. Again, while I do have a firm belief in God; organized religion leaves me cold.

I couldn’t be happier to hear that someone, somehow will be taking him to task. No matter what the reason; he is an anti-semite and his father, as said above, is worse…….if there can be degrees. However, he’s the one with "star" power and able to get his message out. It’s a painful, killing message and perhaps, he’ll be getting paid back somehow…..albeit through his pocket. He is a hypocrit and worse.

Our children have grown into good, socially conscious, caring people. We have a belief in a God, how could you not when you have children and grandchildren? But that belief does not necessarily extend to the rituals that organized religion demands. Rituals that demand that you follow them or else.

Are you more aware of, in recent times, where your tax money is going? Do you think about it more?

Yes, absolutely. In these days of bailouts, I’m looking more and more closely at where my tax dollars are going…………and not liking it one bit. I’m quite tempted to start a lemonade stand , fail and apply for a………..you got it: Bailout!

Thank you Lars; well said. I do agree….I hadn’t watched The View in years, turned it on again when Rosie was there hoping that they would let her fly — yes, I still believe in Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny, and certainly there’s a Tooth Fairy — and then stopped for good……Barbara who?

I do agree; anything that won’t cost us yet even more money. But what of the AIG people who got those huges bonuses from the hand-out (I refuse to call that baloney "bail out".) that Bush gave? I hope their names are announced along with pictures. I think they should be made to either give it back or distribute that money amongst the lower level employees; those not in positon for bonuses. Probably not in position period. These people astound me. We should write them a little note with the word "clue" on it, since they simply do not have one.
