Co-Author of '100 Things To Do Before You Die' Dies at 47

In this vein, I recommend the movie “The Bucket List”.

Caroline Kennedy Does a Star Turn at the DNC

Marcia: Yes, NBC does… and so do their reporters and commentators think they are more important than the people they are supposed to be covering. I find most of them very hard to watch. CNN had the speeches.

Digital Photo Dilemmas? Solved by wOw's Gadget Girl!

Thanks Gadget Girl. I use Picasa, Picasa Web Albums and Blogger. They work for me. Maybe because I’ve been using them for such a long time. I haven’t tried Shutterfly. Have you done a comparison with others available on the web?

Who gets your vote for the veep spot on the McCain ticket?

Hey… I’m an old geezer… watch yer mouf, yung’un!!! I’ll meet you at the gym tomorrow morning for a show-down. And match my health records and brainpower, too. This prejudice in favor of youth must to be addressed. I propose a discussion on that topic.

Cloris Leachman Steals the Show at Roast of Bob Saget

She won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in “Last Picture Show”.

Cloris Leachman Steals the Show at Roast of Bob Saget

I’m a fan of Cloris Leachman, also. Her sister, Claiborne Cary, came to do a summer stock musical in my hometown one summer when I was in high school (1953) and I was in the chorus line. She was a student at Northwestern at the time. Every bit as funny and bawdy as Cloris. I can’t kick as high as I used to but I still love to dance.

Big Bad John by Judy Bachrach

What??? You mean Nancy Pelosi never had an affair? (Don’t hit me….Just joking… trying to lighten up this thread.)

Liz Answers wOw Critics of the John and Elizabeth Edwards Story

You get my vote, Liz. Makes you wonder why those who don’t want to hear another word… keep right on reading.

wOw Announces the Winners of Early Readers Copies of Curtis Sittenfeld's Novel American Wife

Thank you, Thank you, for the book!!! Love the printed word. Delighted we now have a book section. Does anyone else feel like I do… checking into wowOwow every day is like a visit with friends. Don’t always agree with the dears… but you love them anyway. Thanks again… I’m looking forward to the arrival of my book. im p aka Isabelle

Who's Really Dishing the John Edwards Dirt?

Let’s see… Liz Smith posted her story at 2 PM today. So far 82 people have comments to make… Lots were downing that gossip rag, The Enquirer, for printing the Edwards story. Last time I checked, Liz Smith has made her living as a gossip columnist for many a year. When is it not OK to print gossip? Let’s not take Liz’ livelyhood away. She’s fun reading…

Is Lindsay Lohan a Lesbian?

Who is Lindsey Lohan?

Photo Surfaces of John Edwards Holding His 'Love Child'

Its not the affair… for me its about being truthful. Was Mr. Edwards truthful? No. According to him… Mrs. Edwards knew about the affair. Did she know he was coming to LA to visit the woman and baby at the hotel recently? Did he say… “Oh, by the way, Honey, I’m going to LA to see my ex-lover. I’m sure you won’t mind.” That would be hard for me to believe.

What is your favorite book of this summer thus far? Why?

I’m half way through Maria Callas by Arianna Stassinopoulos (Huffington). Two of our book club members bought a Greek dinner at a silent auction and invited the rest of us and our spouses/sig-others for the September meeting. The meal will be cooked by a Greek lady and her mom. Hence, the book choice. For August we’re reading The Zookeepers Wife. And then there is the on-going cookbook reading pile that I have an addiction to… right now its Peter Reinhart’s The Bread Baker’s apprentice and Nancy Silverton’s Breads from the La Brea Bakery. I’ve got 2 jars of Silverton’s starter in the frig, waiting to be used.

Announcing wOw's Book Party!

An exciting addition to this site. Thank you!!! I belong to a book club that meet monthly and has a delicious salad of individuals with differing viewpoints on the books we read. Always the highlight of my month to hear the group’s take. Rarely do we all like a given book and sometimes we all dislike it. Always looking for new fodder. Thanks, again.
