My Comments (70 so far…)

Online dating: Have you tried it?

I found my friend through Senior Friendfinders dot com and we’ve been enjoying each other for the last 6 years. I’m of the opinion that there are flakes in bars and at church functions and at Trader Joes, etc. Its not where you meet someone but what you have in common and what you are willing to put into a relationship that counts.

Do you have a tattoo?

I would never get a tattoo. The Nazis tattooed numbers on the Jews. End of story for me.

Ann Coulter's Birthday Wish for Bush (and a Michael-Moore-Free Definition of Patriotism)

Please stay, Juanita. In my 73 years I’ve tried not to let the ill-humored, censoring sourpusses chase me away. Don’t go… I need you here. This is about free speech… I was taught free speech stops when you call “FIRE” in a crowed theater and people get trampled to death trying to escape when there is no fire. Far as I can figure out… no one here got burned up on either side of this internet debate. I don’t agree with AC and I don’t agree with her opposition but I’m staying alive to breathe and enjoy another day. Stay and enjoy it with me. Isabelle

What is the most life-changing book you've ever read?

I’ve read every message in this thread and loved every minute. Thank you all for sharing. Trying to pick one book from all those I’ve read is impossible. Each one has changed me in big or small ways. Dick and Jane began my love affair with the printed page. My first grade teacher was the last one in that era (Worl War II) to teach phonics before sight reading was introduced into that little school. I had her the year before she retired, thank god.

Mad Dash for Michelle Obama’s Dress

My arms and hands are 73 years old… they are what they are. Not as good as some… better than others. I’m grateful I can still use them to bake bread, sail a boat, hug a grandchild, type this message.

Mad Dash for Michelle Obama’s Dress

What’s wrong with having brains and looking good at the same time? Having to choose between one or the other is tiresome. Seems to me the two aren’t mutually exclusive. I admire the way Michelle Obama dresses and I admire her brains, accomplishment and other qualities as well. So far I haven’t seen her in anything I could criticize… and I was in the fashions business for many years. Hillary certainly progressed from the days early in Bill’s presidency when she’d arrive at a function looking as if she’d just taken the rollers out of her hair and not combed it. Used to make me cringe. I’m for looking as good as you can look.

Liz Smith on Hillary: 'A Lot of Obama's Supporters Would Just Die if He Chose Her'

You can write in on the machines we use in Orange County, California. All this talk about not voting at all because you don’t like this one or that one makes me sad. When I don’t like the slate of candidates presented by the parties, I then ask myself which Party most represents my outlook at the moment and I vote for their person. It may not be who I particularly like but at least the party is more in the direction I want the country to go. And I change my view of the parties as they change their emphasis, which they have done over the years I’ve been alive. I try to keep my emotions out of the voting process and use my brain to analyze the situation. Its not easy sometimes but, for me, its the best way to come to a rational decision.

Liz Smith on Hillary: 'A Lot of Obama's Supporters Would Just Die if He Chose Her'

If Hillary wants to be president some time in her life, I think she would want to stay in the senate. If McCain gets elected, she’d be first in line to run against him after his first term. If Obama gets elected she’s still young enough to run after his 8 years as president. In the meanwhile, she has a very meaningful job as senator from NY. I don’t this her “fighter” personality would be good as Secretary of State. And the Supreme Court has no public appearances… my take is she loves campaigning and being in the spotlight. I think she’d have to turn that down if it was offered.

How do you feel about Hillary Clinton's announcement last night?

I wonder how Hillary could have governed as president of the USA if she is so unwilling to face her present situation. It is a scarey prospect to me that she can’t/won’t face the truth. She lost her race. Weaving reality threads into the shawl of a dream holds it together. I fear this shawl is not made of cloth but only smoke disappearing up the chimney.

Death Watch for Hillary Campaign ... Or Is It? by Monica Crowley

If the object is to win the presidency for the Democrats… the best way to defeat the Democrats in November is to have HRC mount a third party candidacy… in my opinion. For the Democrats to win the White House, you must sublimate your emotions and use your brain. Give up the bitterness and emoting… its tiring and does nothing to promote the cause.

Dana: You do have your picture next to your name… how did you do that? Curious minds, etc….

On Tuesday you told us what you slept in. Today, we want to know: How many people have you slept with?

I’ve saved the best till last… met the man when I was 67… its been a sexual fantasy come true… and we are best friends, partners, adventurers, everything… (no Viagra for him)… I’m his aphrodisiac and he is mine.

Joan and Liz: The Health of Individual Americans Is Completely Subject to the Pharmaceutical and Insurance Companies

It did cost the poor guy in France with the brain tumor… taxes were paid by him to the French government. In this country we have to decide how much we want to be taxed so we can get “free” health care. Make no mistake, nothing is free, everything in life has a little price tag hanging on it, just like Minny Pearl’s hat.

Whoopi: Why Isn't Anyone Screaming About Taxes?

Holy Moly… a Democrat complaining about high taxes. If you think taxes are high now… wait until they pass universal health care!!! I’m 72 years old and get $703 per month from Social Security after they take out the premium for my Medicare benefits. Wonder what I’ll have left from SS when they deduct for Universal Health Care.

wOw's Views on the News: Is It Time for Clinton or Obama to Throw In the Towel?

Maybe she could hire Monica L. to entertain him. (Its JOKE people…. don’t take me seriously!!!)
